I think we underestimate how much the world has changed in even the last couple of decades. I don't know honestly, I'm more comfortable making political predictions than cultural ones. The problem is that cultural trends often run parallel to political shifts, but in the most nonsensical ways imaginable. I guess I'd predict that we'll just see the furthering of the current marketing trends (the creation of the culture war as a means of making perfect consumers) which will cause further spiritual reverence of these empty marketing signs. If anything I don't think we have the virility to reject expression, as retarded as that would be that would be a commitment. Can't say I'm optimistic about our ability to do that without excessive social engineering.
