Why is English (or the way English is taught) so obsessed with avoiding passive sentences?
There's no such stigma in Italian: if it better emphasizes a certain part of the phrase, so be it.

It is not really taught unless you take an actual writing class. We learn active and passive voice but not how and when to use them so in casual language there is little concern for active vs passive. Problem comes when you start writing, if you switch back and fourth without sense it will read poorly if your sentence is structured for object when you are talking about agent. Some people obsess over it because they read a style guide that recommends avoiding passive voice and they have hangups regarding what they think passive implies, that passive voice is the voice of passive people.

This is a prime example of the failure of prescriptive grammar, making rules for when and when not to use active or passive is nearly impossible so the guides fall back too being vague or simplistic instead of just dedicating a page or two to understanding active vs passive voice which would allow one simple rule based on if you want to stress object or agent.

My novel somehow achieved a Flesch Reading Ease of 75.9, a Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level of 4.8, and 2% passive sentences.

That seems too good to be true. I wonder if Word didn't hiccup or something.

Active for agent, passive for object, right?

In scientific writing, passive voice is actually preferred.

Journalists master the passive voice whenever one of their pet causes does something bad, no Black riot or Islamic terror attack has an agent.
