Psychedelic Sci-Fi

I watched Dune this week, along with the documentary Jodorowsky's Dune, and really want to explore psychedelic or schizo sci-fi novels. I know Philip K. Dick's later work (A Scanner Darkly and onwards) has a lot to do with him believing he was receiving telepathic messages. Stuff like this is what I'm interested in. Please, any recs along these lines are appreciated.

Ubik fucked me up and ive been noticeing weird shit ever since. like i see people glance at me more than usual and i dont know why they are making it so obvious they are watching me. im not afriad though, i stare right back, challenging them to stop being fucking cowards. PKD actually hated silverberg's writing, once saying in an interview that there were only two sci-fi authors that ever made real money doing it: Vonnegut and Silverberg. Vonnegut did it by masquerading as mainstream literature, Silverberg did it by (((magic)))

I don't know of anyone except from PKD.
I'm looking to read Solaris by Lem, but that is not likely to have the same kind of shizo effect.
I have fond memories of reading The Man in the High Castle and Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch.
It helped me get my mind on the right track before the crash.

Alice Sheldon is heads and shoulders above the rest of the sci-fi "writers", not sure if I would say her work is psychedelic but most of it is certainly mind bending. try Her Smoke Rose Up Forever.

We could even try to get Jodorowsky himself involved in the project.

If we create a kickstarter fund of 40.000 EUR in order to buy the book, print and sell to collaborators, that would be great.
And I am sure Jodo himself would approve. All we need is to spam his twitter until he is aware of the project.

You are technically correct of course, with respect to the story's subject matter. I have a feeling however, that OP's taste for fantastic-psychedelic adventurous extravaganza might be better served by reading Star Diaries instead. I read both, and would rather reread those than Futurological Congress.

Scanner Darkly is probably one of the most normie friendly PKD stories. The VALIS trilogy, Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch, Martian Time-Slip, Flow My Tears the Policeman Said and Time Out Of Joint are all pretty trippy.

That too. One of the reasons I dislike Bladerunner is because the most PKD and uncanny parts of that book never made it to the movies (the police station segment and Mercerism)

Total Recall was a pretty good movie even though I haven't read the short story by PKD. It left some of that PKD's uncertainty. Not necessarily the paranoia, but you'll get there if you know you're watching a story based on PKD's ideas.
