Hegel portraits from when he was young look pretty Chad. I think that's why Schope hated him so much. Hegel became this huge international celebrity. THE philosopher of the 19th century. Hell, still probably the most influential philosopher since as far as actual philosophy is concerned (gotta give it to Nietzsche as far as philosophy effecting art and culture).

Schope thinks he's this misunderstood genius and also is an incel. He shows up to teach at the same time as Hegel to show him up, and instead he ends up with an empty lecture hall and people packing in to see Hegel, even other established philosophers.

Plus, incelhood runs strong in philosophers, but Hegel was married and reproduced. Not just that, but he married an 18 year old when he was 41 and began producing only sons like a boss. He had been a radical in his youth and was all about the beer halls. A rare Chad who was also an intellectual genius.

I can see how it didn't seem fair. And what is worse, he never baited Hegel, who was busy and just ignored him.
