Master and Margarita, The Three Musketeers, The Godfather - These are classics.

Philip K. Dick, if you like crazy sci-fi, mixed with drugs.

Agatha Christie, Chandlor, Conan Doyle, you can get hooked on crime.

Pratchet or The Myth saga - comedy fantasy.

Truman Capote - In Cold Blood - for true crime, the killing of the Kansas family, it's a very, i mean very good book. Top pick for me during the previous year.

Right now i am Leaviatan Awakes, sci-fi opera.

the postmodernists are bad and only a sectioned off teen section of this board rates them. I wouldnt advise venturing much further past yukio mishima or Kenzaburo oe who are very worth reading. Also try to take value in the languages you know. While russian and jap and greek writers might have more exotic names, if you only know english, english literature will be more enjoyable. Its a tough pill to swallow but its how it is. settle in and read yeats

Classic novles.

You should start with the Greeks but only once you've developed a love for reading, so pick up with the classic novels of the 19th century, like Dostoevsky.

>bored of video games
Good for you anon, I too abandoned them recently, they have gotten way too shit.
I suggest The Same Old Story by Goncharov. He's much more famous for Oblomov i.e. the original NEET but I found TSOS to be educational even in regards to personal expectations, what you should realistically expect when interfacing yourself with other people, when working, with this mysterious little thing called "love"... It's a light, enjoyable novel.

For tragedy, I recommend The Golovlyov Family. It revolves around greed and how it destroys a family. It kicks you real hard in the balls with its soulcrushing depressiveness, so keep that in mind

>but only once you've developed a love for reading
For sure. It's absolutely inane advice to anyone who isn't actually interested in exploring the western literary tradition in his entirety.
