>People happily give their money to rich people, making them even richer.
Books that explain this behaviour?

Religion died but people’s inclination to fervor and hysteria remained. When our civilization is dug up by aliens in the future they’ll think we worshipped Nicki Minaj as a fertility goddess.

Parents and Schools have failed to instill critical sense of logic. They're not taught how to think, but rather how to memorise, how to follow trends, how to listen to experts etc. I still find it incredible that schools do not teach you about the fact that there are bad people out in the world who seek to trick you out of your money, murder you, beat you up, radicalize you etc.

But then again you're not allowed to talk about Jews and Niggers, and those fill all of those niches. I suppose parents should have taken care of it instead, but Boomers and Gen-Xers of western society has been some of the most useless parents in history. Millenials will also suck, but something tells me that generations after will reverse that trend - at least I'd like to hope so.

Anecdotal of course, but in my economics class (which was not an elective, it's mandatory to graduate highschool in my state) there was an entire unit on how to identify and avoid scams.

Econobros I thought humans were supposed to be rational agents seeking to optimize their efficiency, how could our computer models fail?
It’s the humans that are broken.
