I lack an interior monologue and rarely have thoughts. I've been almost completely anhedonic for the past three years, have no interests or passions, and am content to spend my time endlessly doomscrolling. I'm an NPC destined to sleepwalk through life and accomplish as much as I have accomplished thus far: nothing.

Recommend me literature for this feel that isn't A Man Asleep by Perec or The Stranger by Camus.

Are drinking alcohol, smoking weed or popping some lobotomizing pills? Have you tried exercise? Sounds like you have some sort of brainrot going, Anon.

You don’t repeat your real speaking voice in your thoughts?

Why tho

Have you tried praying to God? That's how I started thinking as a kid, I knelt against my bed and prayed to God, told him about everything and thanked him for things I had, asked for them to continue.

I'm not even religious. But I think thinking starts with God.

Quit weed as of the first day of this month and I rarely drink. Don't take any other drugs but I'm open to the idea. You probably won't believe me but my current condition is not weed induced, and my consumption actually picked up heavily AFTER I started experiencing some of the more extreme symptoms as it was the only thing which allowed me to experience feeling again.

I don't think verbally. I mean, I do from time to time, like when I'm reading or imagining myself being interviewed on TV, but it isn't my default mode and I definitely do not have that constant "running dialogue" that people with inner speech report. The concept of an interminable voice in your head is completely foreign to me.

Thank you, I will try. I felt a frisson of hope reading your reply which can only be a good sign.
