>> No.19968223

I stole a book from the library by accident. Scanned all the books but forgot to scan one and then the book theft thing beeped loudly and the librarian told me to just go ahead as she saw I scanned them. I thought about keeping it but when I opened the book I realized it was in French and then decided to just give it back

I stole 50 (the max you can check out) from the Seattle Central Library last month.

Suck my dick I already ripped off the library tags, dust covers, and taped off the worn edges. MY BOOKS NOW. MINE.

White. The library is an enormous homeless shelter that despite being a modern hellhole of 10 floors, has closed off every level for COVID and they only allow you to order books for hold online, but allow bums to shoot up and overdose which I saw both of going to pick up my books. The paramedic held the door for me.

Pussy. Your school decides to rob people of tuition money, allow the syllabus to require $300 books that book companies predatorily price gouge, and then they allow hundreds if not thousands of international students to come learn at your schools to replace the home country’s workers, and you’re worried about their book?

There was a big case here about someone getting caught while jerking off and he wrote a 8 letter statement about how he is an INTP and only wanted to share the happyness he experienced on that day, not understand why someone would try to fuck him over for that, that the girl who caught him was chinese, which he found out because after travelling the world for a long time he is able to identify her accent with ease, and people of her culture don't understand what sharing your enjoyment means etc. It was a massive shitpost.

Not any better. You're delusional if you think there's a single institution that's not corrupt. We are in the looting phase of civilization.

>> No.19972860

The library is an unambiguously good thing amidst the hellscape of modern society. If you steal books without a good reason you're contributing to societal decay, one little bit at a time. If it's rare and you want to scan it, you can borrow any book for at least a day. It's only really moral if they're actually planning to throw the books out, which they tend not to do.

Stealing from Barnes and Noble though? Yeah that's fine.

They put stickers in the front of books that have a foil in them and for expensive hard backs (like obscure textbooks) they put a magnetic tag in the spine. Book thieves can pull out stickers but it stops normal people having a flight of fancy and putting something they like in their bag.

I have never stolen from the library. They let you borrow the books for free.
