Why do faggot writers have to write like twenty fucking books in a series these days? Whatever happened to those days of trilogies or unique novels?

Back then authors could afford to publish only a trilogy and make enough money to get by.

Now the only way to make any money is to have a huge, interminable series of books churned out year on year because the profit margins are so pitiful that if you don’t publish non-stop garbage, you’ll starve.

a better question is why bother even reading fantasy unless you are autistic?

Imagine being so autistic you need books to explain to you what human nature is. You’re a human, how do you not know this intuitively already?

Less to do with authors and more to do with publishing companies - they started this bullshit. Opportunistic authors who never could write anything original, just saw the patterns and as per usual began to duplicate the process. Remember that time when almost every book was named 'A_______of______And____'?

Also it's easier to keep writing same series for like 5-12 books, or do Sandercuck and Joe Abercuck route of writing several different series within same world.

Not that I would mind lengthy series, so long as they would be written by competent authors that is - and not D&D-tard generation.

Fantasy deals with le human nature as well. Just because it's not a story about a depressed cuck whose wife is about to divorce him doesn't mean it's not about human nature.

I don't know how modern fantasy readers do it, bros. I could read a trilogy or a single novel, maybe even five short books, but committing to more than seven novels and in many cases spin-off novellas and short stories... it's just too much. I don't understand how that can be interesting all the way through. Stuff like Sanderson or The Black Company. I imagine they lose steam half way through.

Right, because to people like you reading is nothing more then a fun time waster....

Yes mate, I should already know one of the great questions being asked since the beginning of time, what is human nature...

We can just reject all those philosophers, psychologists and novelists and just go "enjoy" fantasy.

Thats why it describes fantasy races, in a world completely divorced from reality with nonexisting things like magic....

Correct. human nature is something not to be understood but to be lived and embodied. People who try to understand human nature are people who don’t know how to live. Go outside, touch grass. Read fantasy for fun. Problem solved.

Yes, all those can be symbols for things related to human nature. I don't understand how you can be into literature and not get this.

And after thousands of years, all of these so called intelligent people, that dedicated their lives to answering this question, none of them have come up with anything that satisfies human curiosity. Perhaps you should listen to this hillbilly, and listen good. Stop wasteing your time. Go outside and live your life. There is no instruction manual. Just do it.

You don't read books.
