Transhumanism is gay, lame, and creepy. You fags think it's gonna be cool cyborgs, immortality, and deep mystery, but really it'll be like the effects of social media and smartphones but amplified massively. Compare the sci-fi visions of the future from the early 20th century to the actual year 2022. The good things you're hoping for won't come to fruition and instead it will be used to inflate and expedite the most degenerate and meaningless aspects of human existence.

You must consider the complete scope of their mission. So what if we are immortal robo wizards. This does not solve any of our existential matters in the slightest. It may at the very least give us the power to find our solution for ourselves but if it is the same solution entropy and I have already divided then it's an unnecessary postponing of the inevitable

It's one big misdirection from the problem of the Ego, nothing more. A materialists notion of "immortality" always turns into a digital "consciousness upload" acausal purgatory that cuts off your ability to reincarnate onward & so traps you forever in an endless fugue of frustration & pain.

On one end I agree but in a more fatalistic view Thier is no postponement. The date of execution is long since marked in some invisible grave. There is no slow walk, or fast run. It is just an instant and a infinity which is death

Yes. In the West, transhumanists in general can be divided into two groups, the first are young people who became atheists out of hatred for everything they saw around them and because of internal conflicts that they never managed to resolve with their parents; and the second group are people with some physical disability, let's say they are missing a hand or limp when they walk, or they grew up with breathing problems or any disease that makes it difficult for them to lead a normal life. Those are the transhumanists, who by the way do not really want immortality, but do not find a way to overcome some anxiety about death due to lack of belief in God.

The answer is less obvious than it might appear. On one hand, I feel a knee-jerk compulsion to insist that transhumanism is just a projection (along with other teleological or eschatological claims) of man’s inability to grapple with his own extinction. We invent apocalyptic scenarios like judgement day or the singularity to cope with our finitude because it’s easier to accept the sense of an ending than the ending of sense.

On the other hand, this pessimistic outlook is countered by the human capacity for radical self-reinvention. To submit to fatalism is to fail to appreciate the curious and singular nature of what it is to be human; not in any reductive anthropocentric sense, but as a being capable of conceiving of its own precarious status in the universe. It is this awareness and the way it challenges us towards self-determination that makes me not entirely without hope that some kind of post-human future is possible.

And being tied to the flesh you were born with and fading away when it dies isn't slavery? A slave to your basest physical instincts?
>Enjoy ego death after you "upload" your consciousness onto the net.
Why would anyone upload it to the net of all things? and even then, the net might have tons of information but it's not more than what your brain already has to filter daily in reality. If anything, the consciousness being free from the vessel would allow it to gain levels of ego far beyond anything imaginable.

Its our (best) destiny. At our hands the world is rotten. Our ‘birth trauma’ - the unfolding of consciousness - haunts us, forces us to turn our faces towards our own retribution. To make up for thousands of years of ecocide, we give it teleology. We are strapped in to our own fate. We are always facing death - our mission is to choose how to die. Transhumanism is the ultimate transformation, not into cyberwizards. We will live a few million fold in a clean world, with a ‘computer’ trained on 50 billion brains. Why? Because its the ultimate memento mori for the entire universe. The next tower of babylon will be a tombstone. Cold circulation in ‘dead matter.’ Finally, we will point at rocks and say ‘they were alive’ before the universe dies.
