Yes. In the West, transhumanists in general can be divided into two groups, the first are young people who became atheists out of hatred for everything they saw around them and because of internal conflicts that they never managed to resolve with their parents; and the second group are people with some physical disability, let's say they are missing a hand or limp when they walk, or they grew up with breathing problems or any disease that makes it difficult for them to lead a normal life. The answer is less obvious than it might appear. On one hand, I feel a knee-jerk compulsion to insist that transhumanism is just a projection (along with other teleological or eschatological claims) of man’s inability to grapple with his own extinction. We invent apocalyptic scenarios like judgement day or the singularity to cope with our finitude because it’s easier to accept the sense of an ending than the ending of sense.

On the other hand, this pessimistic outlook is countered by the human capacity for radical self-reinvention. To submit to fatalism is to fail to appreciate the curious and singular nature of what it is to be human; not in any reductive anthropocentric sense, but as a being capable of conceiving of its own precarious status in the universe. It is this awareness and the way it challenges us towards self-determination that makes me not entirely without hope that some kind of post-human future is possible.

Why would anyone upload it to the net of all things? and even then, the net might have tons of information but it's not more than what your brain already has to filter daily in reality.
