What do you guys do when you're writing a story and you get to that point where you start to think it's just cringy and stupid
Also do you think good writers that everybody likes ever feel this way.

I usually throw it in the trash. I‘m pretty sure every creative process comes with insecurity unless you have rock solid self esteem which honestly i couldn‘t name anyone who does.

i usually scrap the project and learn from it.
>Also do you think good writers that everybody has ever liked feel this way?
One can't be too sure, but I would say the mark of a "good" writer is to realize your snuff and go on from there. I would argue some of the greatest literary giants were harsh with themselves.

restart
if i think the style is cringe i write differently, if i think a plot element or character is cringe i remove it in the new attempt
i would only scrap the work entirely if i soured on the themes

Everyone gets tired eventually of what they're writing. Everyone who sticks with it anyway realizes that it's never quite as bad as you thought. It might still be bad, of course, but it's not necessarily as bad as you think. Gaddis, reflecting in letters to a contemporary, one said that writing a novel is like caring for an invalid. I find that writing is very rarely easy, and when it is, it's not easy for long. It's a constant process of learning, of self-discovery, of hate and fear and insecurity. There's also sometimes love and feelings of a great and transcendent triumph. You've just gotta stick with it. Or don't, whatever.

If you cringe at your own writing, it means deep down you know you can do better. So go over it until you‘re proud of it.

Reality imitates art. I just looked out of the window and saw a man standing in front of a door on the other side of the street who looked almost exactly like Apu, with the exception that he wasn't a frog and wore black and neon red trainers and not Lidl ones. Weird.

If your reading comprehension wouldn't suck, you'd have noticed that "Reality imitates art" didn't refer to writing, but the person outside my window in imitation to OPs image.

I never really call my writing cringy or stupid.

But if it ain't working then it ain't working so normally I stop writing it normally because I can't think of more ideas to finish fleshing out the story

However you should come back to your old ideas once in a while to rejuvenate your current writing
