Sadness, it seems to me, is about having an uncoordinated point of view. Maybe, in another word, a lack of identity. Malaise, fatalism, impotence, all flow from there, from having no position.

a Beautiful poem by blackmore

In the hour of death, after this life’s whim,
When the heart beats low, and the eyes grow dim,
And pain has exhausted every limb—
The lover of the Lord shall trust in Him.

When the will has forgotten the lifelong aim,
And the mind can only disgrace its fame,
And a man is uncertain of his own name—
The power of the Lord shall fill this frame.

When the last sigh is heaved, and the last tear shed,
And the coffin is waiting beside the bed,
And the widow and child forsake the dead—
The angel of the Lord shall lift this head.

For even the purest delight may pall,
And power must fail, and the pride must fall,
And the love of the dearest friends grow small—
But the glory of the Lord is all in all.

so now that all social NEEDS have been met and all essential commodities have been met, people have no care for currency. that's why people are quitting their job knowing full well a recession is coming. nobody wants to work for the man. people know the elite is more dependent on them than they are on the elite. they stop working, use the last of their spending power to get the essentials and live with their loved ones. what is the elite going to do? come and enforce something? no limpwrist landlord is enforcing shit. they'd have to call the overworked, underpaid cop to come enforce the law. the cops hate them too. food? farmers hate em even more. everyone fucking hates them. they make up what? 2%? 1%? not even?

Movement is the nature of all things.
The essence of things is what lies between.

Everything comes together, while things fall apart.
The many become one, and are increased by one as one among many.
The cosmos weaves.

A creator is as much created by the act of creating as a creation.
There is no creator, and no creation, instead co-creating between the many.

The entire universe dies and is reborn in the present moment.
The ash of the past endures, while the future allures.

So the forest has whispered to me: https://imgur.com/a/51X7TAB

Glyphosate is a poison Monsanto soaks oir food crop seeds in (hence why they have to be genetically modified. The issue has always been about the poison, but the media and a whole “movement” have made it about GMOs).
It causes damage in fetuses and continues to poison them after birth. There’s legit cases of autism, but I believe some zoomers are just getting poisoned. Well, we all are. Chemical giants own all the farmland.

Castello had the girl sit on his lap as he served her a pop spiked with a little bit of syrup of opium. "Now you remember what the doctor said, Bettie?" Before she could respond: "He said, little girls like you are the medicine for me. Just what I need so the pain in the worm-thing goes away for a bit? You remember?" He pulled out the "worm-thing," and rearranged himself under her skirt. "You're comfortable right?" he asked somewhat hoarsely. "Like it's poking me," she said. "You'll get used to it, I just need to rub myself against you a bit, per the doctor's instructions. Ok?" "Yeah," she said. She had really taken a liking to the pop, which was making her tingle in a strange, but not disagreeable, way. "When your done with that pop, if you're a good girl, I'll give you another if you want, Bettie." "Yeah," she said, as her eyes grew somewhat foggy on the outer edges of her sight. They remained like that for some time. She with her second pop. He with a rising blush and a blank look akin to mesmerization. After about half an hour, all told, he grabbed hold of her tightly and said "This is the special part the doctor talked about. Don't be alarmed Bettie, just sit still, this is what dissipates the pain, ok?" As he pressed himself even tighter against her, his face seemed to take on anguished look and the skin of the same grew intensely blushed. This paroxysm lasted for what seemed like an eternity for both of them, but was less than a minute in fact. "I know, I know," he said with a supremely embarrassed mein, "I've made quite the mess in your knickers, but don't you worry a thing, Bettie. Angela will leave you brand spanking new, new knickers and all." He extracted the worm-thing, now shriveled and recondite, from the crotch of her knickers, put its chastened form back in his shorts and zipped himself. "Angela, Bettie had a little accident on account of too much pop!" he somewhat hoarsely directed his voice loudly at the wall, "Come and get her." Angela was just outside his office, seated at her desk. She knocked, opened the door, and with an irrepressibly sardonic grin on her face walked to the child, without making eye contact with Castello. Castello said as she entered, "Give her a new pair of knickers from the display. It'll be on the house, ok?" "Yes, Mr Castello" Then she turned to the child and said with equanimity, "Looks like you had too much pop again young lady (she was tempted to call her something else entirely). Come, let's clean that mess of yours--which said emphatically--and give you a change of knicks." She led the drowsy girl by the hand to the washroom. Of course the "mess" had the unmistakable telltale smell of warm chlorine and was gooey, at times almost gelatinous, to the touch. Not that she, Angela, made note of any of this. Castello was a very powerful man and she a mere secretary who had to drop her own knicks for him every other day...

I play grand strategy games a lot but I suck at them. Never get far into a campaign. I think its because I don't have the patience to do all the micromanaging and a lot of grand strategy games have a lot of waiting and I always feel like I'm falling behind if I'm just waiting in those games. So I end up taking some reckless action when I'm ill-prepared for it. Sometimes I stop playing if I somehow get too strong as well, since I get paralyzed with the amount of options I have when it comes to steamrolling people. Really, I think the idea of grand strategy games appeal to me more than actually playing them - being able to build a large empire sounds great and I love history but I don't have the focus, decision-making skills, and patience to do all that. I should just stick to role-playing games where my lack of patience and focus doesn't apply and making a terrible decision isn't game-ruining.

Reposting from the other thread in hope of receiving feedback.

Opalescent swirling patterns blot the evening sky with a rainbow miasma that occludes the constellations. A red door the size of a child's coffin, stark and unexpected, stands in the center of the salt flats. The rain was here not too long ago, and the white plains have become a mirror for the heavens. That day could not have been any greater. She said to me the other day: "You don't make me happy anymore." It's what she always wanted. Not the restaurant on the other side of town, the teddy bear at the amusement park, the sentimentality of the swans at the pond, nor the kisses, the hugs, the "I'll never get tired of you" sweet and rare sooth sayings of an elaborate tragedy, nor the contralto rumbling of the luxury sportscar, nor the vacations to rustic parts of Italy nor the thousands of fucks given or the simple affection and acts of kindness here nor there. No, none of those things, but the sheer and utter disappointment with the immutable aspects of my very being. Beauty fades, the money comes and goes; I could change my attitude, my sense of style, my wardrobe, my interests, the way I talk, the way I style my hair, my outlook on life, and a myriad other things. It was never about any of those things. It was about my true self, assigned from birth without my say in any of this. My very being had been rejected. A lesser creature might've been swayed by a kind hand and a good meal, the mightiest of all the celestial entities been swayed by good deeds or a heartfelt cry for salvation or redemption, but not her. She was after my soul, and it was not to her satisfaction. There was nothing to call into question. I felt the outer layers of my being peeling away in an excruciating fit of mania. First the posturings and the affectations, then the memories went, then the years of aging, then the intellect. Step after step, I made my way through the red door. I didn't think about what would happen next. I didn't care.

Just finished this poem.

My eye blazes the sun’s burning.

The blush of the blue sky is rose flushed,
The bough of the tree blooms with fresh flowers,
The rush of the wind flings the decked bowers,
Making the human eye grow lush.

Pink suns would dye plain earth bonny red,
Sing love should my nature calmly fret,
Brink of brook my brain bursts balmy breath,
King, son, good, high named, mirth, body’s death.

Idyllic idol of crystal who’s title is ancient of days,
By phrase of rhyme I praise by mine sayings twined,
As spindle’s winding I’ve brindled and bridled my idle ways,
I place thine sign’s trace and bind the blind and base.

Blessed being bring beauty’s boundless breath!
Bold barry brawny booming blameless beth!
Breast bolted by baldur’s blotting blazing barbs!
Brightened bow broken bough bent bars!
Blithe babble-barme’d Bacchhian born!
Blazon blemishless but blamed bachtrian Bourne!
Brandished blade burning bone blee!
Banished brick but best building’s beam!
Bring between both bears baal!
Basphemous blendling bare black bale!
Bream baboon bellow bodily bliss!
By brutish brawling break batin’s brim!

I cried as cast damned madness
A sight rapt past man’s palace,
For I had basked vasts matchless,
Where All chant glad cants balanced.

I guess not paying for new books ("supporting artists") even from dead authors goes against their shallow cookie cutter bourgeois moral code but when they see used book stores they get distracted by the aesthetics and suddenly don't care about the author getting his share anymore.

Wait can I hijack this reply thread for a moment. I love any excuse to call out the virtue signalling of redditors, so I just want to be absolutely sure of the facts.
How does buying a used book deprive authors of income compared to a new book from a retail store? I was under the impression, and correct me if I'm wrong (please tell me I'm wrong!), that commercial retailers pre-order a batch of books from the publisher. I would assume that the retailer pays the wholesale cost of those books up front to the publisher and then try and sell as many as they can at a price where any unsold copies they can absorb the wholesale cost of. In turn the publisher, provided the author has paid back their advance, receives their royalties from the number of copies ordered wholesale. (maybe there are distributors who act as middle men?)
So, the book sitting on the shelf of a retail store, the author has already been paid for it. If the retailer sees they're selling out, then in response to demand they may order more copies from the supplier? Now, indirectly I can see how that ensures the author gets paid their fair share because now they get more royalties from the second batch of books ordered.
But if all of a sudden everyone starts going crazy for some out-of-print order, they fly off the shelves of used book stores, doesn't that theoretically motivate a publisher to print a new edition of the book?
And if the book is still in print, doesn't that increased demand motivate the publisher to keep the book in print? Thereby ensuring that more retailers will order new copies, and the author keeps getting paid royalties?
tl;dr - how can I shame redditors more accurately about denying the author royalties?

Don Castello was eager to bugger the broad before him but had to hold his horses on account of all the commotion outside. Someone had just been shot. A man by the name of Negroni, whom he knew from his days at the casinos on the strip. He closed the curtains and turned to the woman before him: a buxom, large haunched, forty something vedova with raven black hair. "Bend over and lift your dress Antonina," he told her. "What happened outside Castello, you look like you seen a ghost?" "I don't pay you to ask questions, Antonina. Now do as I say or I'll whip your ass raw!" She bent over, lifted her dress, and dropped her silken drawers, exposing a voluptuous ass the color of camembert. He approached her languidly and firmly grabbed one of her creamy cheeks and spread it, exposing the tarantula of her sex hidden at the center of her undercarriage, just beneath her hirsute eye. Just as he was about to finger her eyeless eye a violent crash was heard in the other room, followed by a male's shout, followed by two gun shots, then silence. Castello went for his Beretta but it was too late as three soldati rushed in, weapons drawn. "It's not you we want Castello, it's la vedova Antonina we want." He dropped his weapon, then they grabbed, tied, and blindfolded him and confined him in another room. "Antonina, puttana, la tua morte è vicina!"–the first man screamed. "No, per favore, ho i soldi. Castello stava per pagarmi proprio ora!"–she cried! "You have lied and cried one too many times, puttana. You must be made an example of, but not before you pass through the hands of all my men, capisci?!" They grabbed her violently by her hair and took her out the back door. They drove her to the seaside, where il capo, Don Guattari, had a cottage. There five men waited to have there way with her, after which would expressly follow her execution by garrote, but just as the third man began to enter her she lunged forward, grabbed her breast, a moan rattled out of her, and her eyes rolled back. She was dead--evidently frightened to death. The man who was inside of her fell back flat on his back and crossed himself. There was a long silence followed eventually by a "sergeant's" command: "The plan stands, take her to the boat, bring the chains and electric saw. Let's go!"

You are pretty much right. Contracts can vary obviously but most often the author gets his royalties from books ordered wholesale. Wholesale price usually is like 40% of the retail price I think but could be wrong.
Books sold directly on the publisher or the authors website is different again.
The publisher orders a number of books from the printer. If the books sell out they will order the next edition from the printer and so on. The publisher and retailer will pay good attention to the demand and as long as the book is still somewhat being read and retailers want to keep selling it the punlisher will make sure it stays available at the major retailers and keep ordering new editions from the printer as necessary. The larger the order size at the printer the lower the cost for the single copy will be and if the retailers only want to keep a very small stock the publisher may pull the plug. Printing, logistics, wages, return shippings etc. may not be worth it. (See boston consulting group's growth-share matrix)
Total number of used copies of a certain book sold in used book stores is very hard to come by and even if they notice a demand it is still not very likely that they will print it again. Demand is uncertain because the used market has satisfied an unknown part of it already and printing takes time and a hype could be blown over by then. Print on demand or selling the rights to other smaller publishers could become an option.
The best case for an author will be to have a large initial demand and a steady demand later on which comes from people buying new copies.

Thanks for the rely anon. If I get you correctly, the longer a book is on the market in most cases then even if the publisher chooses to do more print runs, the next run will generally be smaller than previous ones until such a point it's just not profitable enough to print again. Also that BCG growth share matrix thing feels like it explains almost every company's product porfolio ever.

When a man gets mocked, other men see it as chance to undermine his chances in group dynamic and with women. Everyone's evil side is free to come out.

>The Butterfly Effect - seemingly insignificant events can cause immense and world-changing events later, and as a result the original cause may be opaque (which is related to Chaos Theory and also Complexity Theory)
>Strongly Ergodicity Breaking Systems - a term from particle physics. An Ergodic system is something like rolling a die, as you approach infinity roles the average is 3.5 or whatever. Doesn't matter what the first number you roll is. Given identical dice, they will all eventually converge on 3.5. An Ergodicity Breaking system is one where the initial starting state changes the 'average', most things in the universe above the sub-atomic stage are Ergodicity Breaking. Your investing in Bitcoin in the past would result in a, for the sake of argument, average net-worth which would be wildly different than almost any other investment decision you could have made at the same time. But what makes you life strongly Ergodicity Breaking is that chances are all those net-worths won't converge over time to the same average: there's near infinite variations of net-worth.

Is Lookmaxing effeminate?
It's weird these are the same guys who will lament the loss of man's rightful place in the natural order of society, yet they are focusing on preening and presentation like a woman. I was under the impression that throughout history a man's appearance has always been function over form, the Greek Ideals were based on the embodiment of strength that the body represented. A beautiful body was a healthy body. A body that was dynamic and capable of important work.
Animal skin decoys and camouflage, again, a functional item for hunting that might become aesthetic or later on even ritualized.
Does regalia of Kings invalidate my point? Is poncing about in a robe and a crown and all that stuff show that there has always been a element of appearance and form preceding function (although arguably the 'majesty' of the appearance served an important social function of signalling status?).
Why do men have short hair? It's easier. More practical. It's the same reason a guy doesn't have a separate body soap, conditioner, shampoo and face cleanser. He just douses himself in body wash and rubs it where he needs to until it's clean (which isn't as ridiculous as it sounds since most of them the active ingredient is Sodium Laureth).
Has a man's appearance has predominately and overwhelmingly though history been determined by function before form.
If so, then lookmaxxing is reversing that: a reversal that has traditionally been the domain of women. I also wonder how much of the regalia of Kings was actually selected for them by their Queens?

>but I know that's bullshit because of quantum mechanics I guess?
No, not necessarily. As I understand it the 'indeterminacy' of Quantum Physics is not that "lol, it's random bro anything can happen" but more to do with the fact that the only way to accurately determine both the position and velocity of a Quantum particle is to interfere with it. Just thinking about it logically: Quantum phenomena must be deterministic because otherwise Newtonian laws wouldn't work. It's just that the same equations don't work at the Quantum level. Or something like that, I don't know.
>But that probably wouldn't change much for the facet of determinism that I'm most interested in, like human free will
Don't get me started on Free Will. lol. I think there's way more macro phenomena that we need to clarify before we can ever begin to have a discussion about Free Will.

I’m glad my post helped you. It’ll always be sad to see bad things happen with your cats, but you’ll be able to provide them with a lot of good and happy moments during their lives. I’ve no doubt you’re doing that already.
About the vet, just don’t take too long and never be afraid of changing vets. It took me half a dozen tries before settling with the right one for us.
Also, don’t raise them and the mother as street cats. They live about half as much as a cat that stays at home and can contract diseases, parasites, get hurt fighting, be poisoned or hit by a car. If you want to them to go outside, you can take them for a walk with a harness, like what people do with dogs.
Finally, although - barring the mother - you don’t need to worry about it until they are like 4/5 months old, don’t forget to neuter them before they start developing sexual behaviours. Being in heat is stressful for the cat (and for whoever lives in the house) and the sexual hormones of males take like three months after neutering to completely leave the body.

Wait, why do you think the vagina is just like skin all the way in? The Vaginal walls are more permeable to outside substances than the skin, this is why there is a higher risk of Glyphosate leaching out from the tampon and into the body than there would be from clothes that are making contact with the skin. This is why women need to douche to avoid getting UTIs

I can remember to a point why I'd feel my family had abandoned me. It took a while, quite a while to really realize. A long time, really. It's a big thing, admitting to yourself gradually that you think you really are unloved. With my father it's simpler in a way, perhaps, but basically: both of them really cut ties with me in 09. I lived out the year at home, but they abandoned me when I needed them the most. I asked, and I asked again, and they did. I asked again a couple of years later and they did nothing. Told me to fuck off, basically. So gradually, although it took very much to admit to myself, I began to realize that they didn't love me, and probably don't. They don't really know me at all by now, that probably ended in 08 or 09. The thing is that I.. this is childish in a way, although in another way it is not- I did an interrail in 08, and I had an idea that I'd get a tatoo in some seedy place (hungary, for some reason) where no one wouldn't care I wasn't of age. The tatoo was going to be on my left hand, and it was to be a kind of simplistic picture-frame with the words "No direction home" in it. That's how I felt. Kind of a dramatic cry for attention. But I remember I did. I didn't get the tatoo. What I can't remember is what is to have made me feel so alienated already at that point. It wouldn't make sense for my family to suddenly not love me, out of the blue, 10 months or so later. But I don't really have any memories as to what would have made me feel this, concretely. Except that my dad got ill when I was a kid, and kind of went away. But I doubt it covers it. I wonder how they treated me, if at all. I'm still not sure I exist.

Hey, /lit/, I need your advice.
A friend of mine broke up with his gf a couple of months ago. He already moved on and is dating another girl. The thing is: I think his ex is cool and would like to get closer to her to see if something comes up, even if we just end as friends. The problem is that we barely know each other and don’t move through the same circles. I only met her a couple of times because of said friend. How could I get closer to her? Should I just give up?

My totally unsubstantiated assumption that could be way off base is that you need to meet more women in general. My reasoning is that if your still thinking about your friend's ex months after having only casual encounters with her, then she's probably one of the few interesting/attractive women you've had any interaction with recently which is why she sticks in your mind.
So yeah, based on the fact you don't move in the same circles, I would just move on and more importantly make an active effort to meet and talk to other women your own age.

everything that is discernable arises in relationships. this is easily proven by the fact that time appears to move. I believe what you're talking about is this endless interrelationship. To have a limit is to be defined. Endless interrelationships are necessarily limited because the parties of every relationship define one another. An endless sum of limited things is still limited, by being limited to that which is limited.

And God knows best.

Ahh that definitely makes sense then. I'm sorry you're in such a lonely place at the moment anon. Meeting people as you say is easier said than done. The hardest thing is figuring out where you're 'niche' or 'scene' is and finding places where like minded people congregate and then having the guts to actually go up and introduce yourself to people, lob in a comment into a conversation at a well chosen time.
One thing is to get into a habit of just making small talk with people. Just makes it easier: think of it as practice.
Good luck anon.

I am addicted to change. I have stagnated for so long that i have come to associate repetition however slight with ennui. when that realization is made, the panic bgins to creep in, and the patters of anxiety are can be felt in my skin. In the way may hands dampen and my breath catches in my throat. These thoughts are not profound by any metric, but it's like i am rediscovering anxiety once more. And it is happening in this very moment. Right this instant. An hour ago it was a mild discomfort. A sort of offense that was bubbling up in the pit of my stomach. And there were many things I could take offense to, that i had in my new state, disregarded entirely or processed with uncanny serenity. My default mode had always been being an anxious, sputtering, sweating, self effacing mess. So when, for the first time in a long time, I was calm, I had associated this new state, this unprecedented numbness, the circumstances that brought it on, and the people who existed around me then and there, with the ever elusive "happiness".
I fear I am addicted to beginnings.

Here is an excerpt from "Colloquies on the Simples and Drugs of India" (1563) by Garcia de Orta that talks about bhang (ancient form of edible cannabis)
>"The profit from its use is for the man to be beside himself, and to be raised above all cares and anxieties, and it makes some break into a foolish laugh. I hear that many women take it when they want to dally and flirt with men. It is also said, but it may not be true, that the great captains, in ancient times, used to drink it with wine or with opium, that they might rest from their work, be without care, and be able to sleep ; for the long vigils of such became a torment to them. The great Sultan Bahadur said to Martin Affonso de Souza, to whom he wished every good thing and to whom he told his secrets, that when, at night, he wanted to go to Portugal, Brazil, Turkey, Arabia, or Persia, he only had to take a little bhang."

"So you're only sixteen, huh? I thought you looked a lot older than that." That was a lie. She knew the boy was young. That's why she approached him. "Have you ever had a beer before, young boy?", she asked teasingly, standing in front of an open fridge.
"My dad let me have a sip of his, once", the boy replied in an almost deadpan voice with a hit of uncomfortableness. This young woman, about four or five years older than him, was quite hospitable - too hospitable.
"Had my first beer about a month ago, when I turned twenty-one. Why don't you try one?"
"Uhm, I'm not old enough to-"
"A little sip won't hurt. When you have to go back home to your mommy I can drive you, and you can pick up your car tomorrow." She reached in the fridge for a can of beer next to a jug of apple juice. The "apple juice" was slightly off-color from what one might buy in the store, and the can she grabbed was already opened. The young woman sat down next to the teenage boy on the couch, who was staring at the near-mute television with false intent. She took a swig of the beer then held it out for the boy. "Here, try some." Not only was the boy nervous with the questionable legality of drinking alcohol at his age, he also didn't want to drink from the same can as someone else. Regardless, he was aware of how predatory his situation was and knew that cooties from sharing a drink would be the least amount of cooties he would get in the next hour. Hesitantly, he grabbed the can and slowly took a sip. The liquid had such a strong taste that he almost reflectively spit it out, but he forced it down anyways while his body cringed.
"When they said beer tasted like piss, I didn't think it literally tasted like piss!", the boy disgustingly exclaimed. The woman giggled.
"Keep drinking it, you'll get used to the taste." She took the can from the boy and held it up to his mouth. He wanted to say he had enough, but the young woman was so nice to him before he didn't have to heart to tell her no, so the boy kept sipping as the woman held the drink to his head. Even if this special cocktail had only half the alcohol content as normal canned beer, the teenage boy with no tolerance started to be visibly dizzy. "Oh, it looks like you drank too much." The woman chugged what was left in the can then put her arm around the boy to keep him upright. Her other arm slid down into her pants and she pushed her bosom against the boy's body. Even through the disorienting drunkness the boy was clearly uncomfortable. He wanted to go home now. It didn't matter if this lady was so nice to him.
"Hey, uh-"
Before he could start his sentence the woman moved her arm that was around him to cover his mouth, and pressed her chest harder against his body.
"Didn't your mommy teach you manners? I was nice to you, you should be nice to me." She took her hands that were in her pants, reached up under his shirt, and led her slimy fingers down his chest and stomach, before starting to unzip the boy's pants.

>So you're only sixteen, huh? I thought you looked a lot older than that." That was a lie. She knew the boy was young. That's why she approached him. "Have you ever had a beer before, young boy?", she asked teasingly, standing in front of an open fridge.

Maybe this is a cultural thing, or perhaps it helps your older woman fetish, but a complaint I would have is that the character and prose doesn’t fit a 16 year old’s level of maturity, things like cooties and obviously the implication of the apple juice I mean, unless the implication is that he’s not 16 and he’s lying but that doesn’t feel clear.

>didn't think it literally tasted like piss!", the boy disgustingly exclaimed.

This is gonna come off silly, but there’s a scene in ligotti’s work where a young boy watches an old black woman eat a raw hot dog dipped in mayo and is in disgust but can’t do anything about it, the scene made me reminisce about it.

>Even if this special cocktail had only half the alcohol content as normal canned beer, the teenage boy with no tolerance started to be visibly dizzy.

I feel like specifying it’s a cocktail of half strength doesn’t increase the depth of the story or the sensual quality you’re going for, probably should cut it.
>He wanted to go home now. It didn't matter if this lady was so nice to him.

I feel like if you’re trying to imply his mental age with your prose, such as using cooties and the above, you should probably control yourself from using words like “disorientating “ on account of it not fitting the child mind you’re going for.
>and led her slimy fingers down his chest and stomach,

I understand you’re going for an authoritarian and molestation scene, but the “slimy” is not desu right kind of gross you want, the picture of slimy fingers doesn’t feel coherent with the rest.

>before starting to unzip the boy's pants.

Fair enough ending. all in all kinda utilitarian only major complaint is the childish style coming up at random and not cohering with the context.

I wrote it to self insert as the boy but it’s supposed to be told from the standpoint of a young woman with a mommy fetish who preys on teenage boys. Hence why she acts like the 16 year old boy is a lot younger than he actually is. Also,
> I feel like specifying it’s a cocktail of half strength doesn’t increase the depth of the story or the sensual quality you’re going for, probably should cut it.
It does. Did you not catch the meaning with “apple juice” next to an open can of beer that tastes like piss? The beer was at half-strength because half of it was piss. The woman was making the boy drink her piss-beer. Other than that I guess the criticism is fair. Do you ever feel like you're just too much of a normie/simple person to say anything interesting? That you feel at odds with society at large is, I feel, is hardly a sign of being so out of its center that you have a unique perspective on things. Maybe that's just how we flatter ourselves, as a silver lining, when in fact we're just failed normies. Reality is hardly ever as merciful as to accommodate the fantasy of the "genius" being at odds with others exactly because of his fundamental otherness.

I'm not a liberal at all, but I think at this point they might as well take away automatic weapons from people just because all the people who own them are never going to do anything of meaning with them. These people like to say "You can take my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hands!" but the truth is that they are so concerned with some non-existent moral high ground that they'd never even TRY to do anything no matter what state their country is in. > take away automatic weapons from people
Automatic weapons are already illegal.
> people who own them are never going to do anything of meaning with them
I suspect a confiscation scheme would result in significant armed resistance (at least in certain states).
> non-existent moral high ground
The government being afraid of its people is a far better situation than the people being afraid of the government, and you can be sure with the extent of gun proliferation in the US the government is afraid of the people, hence the incrementalism rather than full scale edicts for the more egregious infringements on freedom. If you doubt that, consider whether fighting armed Appalachian mountain men would be all that different from fighting armed Afghan insurgents.
> TRY to do anything no matter what state their country is in
It sounds like you're coming from the typical neolib perspective of imposing your beliefs on others. Most of the "come and take it crowd" are saying "come and take it" not "I'll go there and make sure you can't take it". They generally just want to be left the fuck alone, and Trump notwithstanding, they generally don't participate in the political process.

Probably won't, mine is very idiosyncratic, I want to be a employed filmmaker. I mean there's more specifics too it, but that doesn't matter. The problem is that to be a employed filmmaker you need to have a audience, that means you need to identify a theme or style that appeals to a certain segment of the population and then you need to gain a lot of exposure from them. I don't know who that segment is, and as such I can't get exposure from them. If you can do that, then theoretically there's many paths to getting the resources to make films

have you identified the theme/style you're interested in exploring? if you already have one, all you need to do is find out what kind of person likes that particular kind of genre. maybe easier said than done, but it does seem doable.
if you don't have the style yet, you have two options: either cater to an audience you think is large (and easy to reach), or disregard the audience until you have your style roughly sketched out, then investigate the public by observing who is interested in similar things. find where those people may congregate and integrate yourself into their community (online or otherwise, idk). of course, you need a product to show them before you can hope for exposure, so you'll need to start small.
