Part of modern suffering stems from the subject's inhibition towards the world; in modern societies those who are naturally inhibited are crushed by the construction of interpersonal relationships. It is interesting to think that even though the world is moving towards a forced and artificial inhibition promoted by the amount of time connected, still, yes, those with greater disinhibition manage to do well in social relationships. Anyway, they seem to win even though they have nothing to offer the world, they are whores of the word and of the moment.

I enjoy absurdist humor, and my friend recommended I watch Rick and Morty. I did, and while I don't remember laughing at any of the material, I did like it enough to keep watching it. My friend(s) and I reference media often, not in a "haha REMEMBER THAT" out of nowhere way but at least the memetic nature is contextual.

I've given this some thought. I think a lot of the humor of things comes from the later references and memeability that comes from it. Some stuff in the show was funny, once again, not outwardly chuckling (the dragon episode was probably the best one) but inwardly smiling? Not sure. I don't know, lads.

I used to post in these threads to whine about my life, now I see other people posting in these threads whining about their lives and feel disgusted that I was once like them. Maybe some people who do post about it do have it terrible. Most people don't know how good they have it, though. Everything felt terrible until I realized just how much I took for granted.

I'm curious as to how many people in these threads are actually interested in literature, as in they actually read and/or write. These threads feel more like /r9k/ or /adv/. I've posted excerpts from what I've written and received no replies, I've made references to and tried to start discussion about the books I've read and nothing comes of it. I could be Perhaps what I've written just isn't worth acknowledging, and there's nothing to say about the books I've read, because everyone here is familiar with them. I don't think that's the case, though. Any post over a thousand characters just seems to get skimmed over. This post is probably already too long. This post is also ironic and hypocritical. I've stopped complaining about myself and instead I've started complaining about other people. Hatred towards others is healthier than self-hatred so it's not an issue for me. I've become more spiteful towards others in general, but feel great about myself now, despite my flaws. Is this what it feels like to be egotistical? A pleasant feeling.

I blame boomers, I will always prefer to use the app or website because its faster. Yet the bank presumes 90% of inquiries are going to be shit that can be done on the app that should take less than 30 seconds. I only call or go in a face-to-face when something is broken, why are you telling me to do the thing I already did but didn't work? Aren't these systems designed by autistic and psychopathic engineers who look at customers as numbers and aim for maximal efficiency and minimal downtime? What are you talking about? Boomers and old ladies do this succesfully all the fucking time. They live for it, especially once they're retired and have nothing to do all day. Who else is it tying up the grocery cue with idle chit chat where the cashier has that awkward smile because they can see there's three people behind waiting? Who else is it having a conversation right in the middle of the sidewalk?
Have you never felt the eyes of a older man burning into the back of your skull when you get on the bus, and when you press the 'stop' button after he fails for the fifth time to successfully press it or picked up something that rolled out of his shopping bag he thanks you, starts chatting, and even though the doors are open is in no rush to exit the bus? This board and site generally tends to have the occasional flotsam of intelligence floating on a sea of stupidity . I come here largely to purge my id of politically incorrect thoughts, argue with people dumber than me for my own gratification, and generally vent into the void. I used to keep a journal but eventually found that the abyss started to stare back into me and couldn't bare to be alone with my thoughts any more so instead I post here so that they at least might touch some other consciousness and thereby remind me that I exist.

Is it a waste of time? Yes. Should I instead be attempting to build my own online reader base? Yes. But it's something and as of right now they only other choice is nothing.

Leftypol is generally a more intelligent place to post btw but you have to have at least some left-leaning sympathies to stomach it.

i dont get how transexuals use gender to define themselves. if gender is an artificial construct defined by society, then if you are a girl who hangs out with boys and likes sports and camping, it doesnt mean you are a boy on the inside, it means that you like things that are arbitrarily seen as boyish things.

how can you use gender norms as an indicator that you're the opposite gender when they are created by society ?

interesting. i have long been conflicted about my general stance towards politics. i guess my interpretation of the world is that there are two possibilities: either everyone is a unique iteration, or "vessel" so-to-speak, of the same singular, universal consciousness—perhaps even inanimate material is also simply kaleidoscopically multiplied manifestations of this universal Being.
OR
the view of Thucydides, Nietzsche, Thrasymachus, etc. is the correct one. there is no "higher world" that the material world reflects; there are no "souls" and there is no room for God.
if the first possibility is the right one, then left-wing thinking seems to be the logical conclusion—this is very disturbing to me, given my predisposition towards right-wing ideas.
if the second possibility is correct, then right-wing thinking is perhaps the correct train of thought. this is also disturbing to me, as i am deeply afraid of the idea that there truly is no meaning in the world other than what we can see and touch
i realize i'm making some big generalizations here, but that's only because i'm still rather young and haven't had time to flesh out my worldview. either way, i'm deeply conflicted about the whole thing.
went on a bit of a rant here

Because trannies, in their infinite wisdom, created a subculture around being trans, so the more not their biological sex one is the more ‘valid’ they are.

In the effect trans people come in two flavours.

>trans people

The kids that is active in all the forums, on social media, trans flags everywhere and the entire calendar is filled with pride events that they are planning to attend. FtM’s are cartoonishly masculine and MtF’s are cartoonishly feminine. Does not have clinically diagnosed gender dysphoria.

>a person that happens to be trans

You likely won’t know they are trans unless they tell you straight away, barely active in the trans community or not at all. Maybe was at one pride parade or has a trans flag somewhere in their Twitter bio. Has both masculine and feminine characteristics no matter what they identify as. Has a clinical diagnosis for gender dysphoria.

For obvious reasons you don’t really see that many of the second type in the wild.

Sorry for the rant.

i guess i did leave out some crucial details. firstly i should say that i naturally am more inclined to believe in the first possibility that i listed—an Aristotelian way of looking at things is much more comforting than a Nietzschean way.
the reason it's disturbing to me is because, if that Aristotelian way of looking at things naturally leads to "leftist" societies (a vague term, what i mean by "leftism" is basically transhumanism, elimination of suffering in society, elimination of freedom—think of humanity assimilating into something analogous to an an ant-hill, perhaps the mind of God, idk)—if that is true, it conflicts violently with my gut-instinct, which is that freedom should be valued above all else. i don't necessarily want to assimilate into the mind of God, and if God made me for that purpose, then i don't know if i want to be part of his plan.
i probably could have explained this better, let me know if it didn't make sense and i'll try to clarify what i mean

i didn’t transition because of the socially constructed parts of gender. i was fairly comfortable in the “feminine gay guy” social role even though i never felt particularly like a man. the thing that made me want to transition was this perpetual feeling of discomfort in my body on a medical & biological level. in a sense i didn’t feel like the wrong gender but the wrong sex and that was the thing that made me want to take hormones.

of course sex can’t really be changed. i recognize there are fundamental differences between myself and natal women; i may have a feminized body but it will never be female. but in every area except sex/dating the differences have slowly decreased over the years to the point that being trans isn’t that big of a factor in my life anymore

i suppose "leftist" might not be the right word for it. the major point of confusion for me is that if all conscious organisms are iterations of the same thing, then all beings in the universe are, in a sense, me—to harm them would be to harm myself, in a literal sense. thus, leftist sentiments such as equality and empathy for everyone seem to follow. you could of course take it further and say that birds and trees and even bacteria are also "literally me," but i won't go into that right now because it's where things get really confusing for me.

i've never put this into words before—i tried once and failed—but i'll try again here. i remember reading a sentence in Moby Dick that went something like this: "man's insanity is heaven's sense." i feel as though life is organic and spontaneous by nature, and that being perfectly reasonable and "scientific" leads to sterility and ultimately death. i don't know how to elaborate further on this because it's inherently irrational; i don't even know how to think about it, frankly.

In my opinion, "leftist" ideas are very useful for children, for, even though the idea that might makes right, for example, is technically right, it is not at all useful in the education of children, as they do not understand this, similarly to how they don't understand the world, and naturally live a selfish existance, they cannot reason what this means or the implications of this, and generally will tend to be annoying and untameable if they are taught these sort of moral ideas (might makes right, no such thing as justice etc). Also leftist here should be in quotation marks since the idea of justice is basic and has always to our knowledge been a part of society. To me leftist more signifies the willingness to change so to speak, even by violent action in the extreme wing, thus the Nazis are basically leftist for their complete disregard of the previous society and the aiming to an ideal future. The extreme wing of the right could be said to justify the use of violent actions to stop said change, but the lines here are blurry and many of the people in this extreme live a delluded existance and are really aiming for radical change, which in their minds restores some kind of lost paradise (but is I should reiterate, essentially leftist). In fact most of the people who promote political violence as opposed to simple law enforcement and rule of law are left wing. I hope that made sense, I am no expert in the field.

i would say that it could be reductionistic to view leftism as being, at its core, the willingness to change. consider this hypotheical: imagine we have a perfect communist utopia with a small sect of people who wish to overthrow the order and return to a capitalistic way of doing things. would we call them leftist? we certainly could, by your definition, but i feel like we might be losing sight of what "leftism" stands for. of course, the word is already so vague and hard to pin down, it would be hard to provide a definition; but it is usually assumed that there is *some* goal, of some kind. the word "progress" implies an end-point—i don't think we could possibly say that progress actually IS the endpoint; it would feel paradoxical.

Egoism is the way to go IMO when it comes to politics. I just have thoughts. However the cards fall, that's my politics. Where people map it to the spectrum is of no concern of mine. That's their problem. The "spectrum" is a spook, easily manipulated to condition herd mentalists into viewing everything in terms of simple binary oppositions.
This also leads me to absorb all areas of political thought without feeling that I need to toe the line on one side or the other. Whether it be /pol/ or /leftypol/ , I'm there for my own amusement. You begin to notice that the right and left are mad about the same things, though they are prevented from joining together -- to the terror of the elites-- by a completely unnecessary culture war which the elites encourage as a divide and conquer strategy. Both sides have their nonexistent boogeymen, conspiracies, misinformation, self-deceptions, which they take to be the truth and the other side sees to be false.

The sect would still be left wing for in their strife to fulfill their will, they would come into conflict with the powers that be, for they need a complete rethinking of the wholle of society to achieve their ideas. Thus the powers that be (i.e. the communists) would be fashioned as the right wing, as, in a violent conflict of ideas, they would be proponents of mantaining the status quo, and would be aided by the current organs of society, the police the lawmakers etc to mantain the status quo.
Of course this takes for granted the communist society would not be paradise (there would be law enforcement, a hierarchy of power, a state, and discord) for if it was, the sect could not exist and be meaningfully recognized by society.
You can see this in the soviet union since stalin, in my opinion, where, of course from the standpoint of an outsider, the communists would still be leftists because there would be still be a conflict at home where the communists are not in power and are still revolutionaries, but in the soviet union, the communist would use violence to put down the opposition and restrain freedoms of the people to keep the status quo, the supposedly communist society, and the opposition, even if they were capitalist, would not necessarily think of themselves as right wing, and could indeed despise the right wing abroad but still propose freedom and hence capitalism purely as a rejection of the communist tradition, the established tradition, and the communists would be reactionaries in trying to put down the unrest of the people through their current power as the rulers of the nation. The left wing in my opinion has a few extra characteristics that are related to it being the wing of change or revolution, that is being juvescent, being unhappy with the state of the world, and believing in their own ethical view of politics and not believing in the possibility of the status quo of justifying itself through its own existance (that is, not respecting the state apparatus and society, thinking they themselves can be right and better than most of society because that society is old, dettached or malfunctional (that is, populism)), which all are related.
Sorry, I had this response approximately a half and hour ago but my phone died, my original response was probably much better expressed and clear, I assume I have made a bunch of mistakes as I'm ESL (and probably many things you can be critical of) and I ask you to lean towards not disregarding immediately my theory since I might not have been as eloquent as I intended to be because I am in a hurry and I got to go. it of course doesn't mean that you won't feel such pain again, but you're less likely to end up being hurt by others since they aren't at the forefront of all your life's actions and decisions, you are no longer relying on others to make you happy and distract you from your life's problems

Of course there is truth in the world, but it has nothing to do with a political spectrum. Politics has nothing to do with truth. It's about winning. Whatever truths are involved in politics and its contrived spectrum, are weaponized to be misleading, presented in bad faith, or diluted into half truths all to undermine the enemy's position and strengthen one's own.

And my truth is a truth of this world, as I am part of this world. (Egoism isn't necessarily ontologically solipsistic.) And only I determine the conditions in which that truth is proven, as it is MY truth, my property. And my truth is that I needn't participate in the squabbling dust-up of rival political factions neither of which have things figured out.
Get this. You can't figure out the truth if you are swallowed up in the political spectrum. Because it is a mental trap, a confines that defines itself in terms of the antithesis of its opponent side. But the other side also defines itself in terms of its opponent. So both sides are ultimately vacuous at their core. Because they merely exist to oppose what opposes it. The libtards need the chuds to hate to have something to believe in and the chuds need libtards.

The world has so thoroughly forgotten what we are and what we want that it doesn't even have to destroy us actively, it can just ignore us and we'll eventually sort ourselves into an appropriate suicide, which will be good for the economy because it will give a lot of mindless day-jobbers things to clean up and a corpse to cart to the morgue and so on.

What does accomplishment mean now? All the presses are completely captured and devoted to churning out propaganda to midwits on antidepressants. It's not even cool state censorship like some tsarist regime, it's willing self-censorship by the midwit managerial class, composed entirely of office worker ladies on Tinder. You can't even rebel by spooking the squares or symbolically railing against the system. It would be just as invisible and uninteresting to an office worker Tinder lady as a schizophrenic speaking nonsense.

Scholarship and academia are captured, turned into training institutes for office worker Tinder ladies. Politics is exclusively nepotism and cronyism, there are no great battles to be fought, it's just midwits cat-herding other midwits. There are no areas left to distinguish yourself in, there's nowhere to go and nothing to do. And it's only going to get worse. The world only has two settings now: Brazil and China, and all countries will be some blend of the two by 2050.

First of all, you have to distinguish between the state and rich people, rich people might have acquired their wealth through "theft and conquest", if you are a marxist (which sounds like you are), the state has some overlap with rich people, but not much, the people who work for the state definitely haven't acquired their position through theft and conquest.

The state as an entity larger than any of the people involved cannot be said to acquire their power through theft and conquest, since it gives back to its citizens. The fact that paying taxes is compulsory does not make any of the individual people who work for the state a thief or a conqueror.

Yes, again, being an egoist does not mean I have to model everything I think on what Stirner thought. That is decidedly unegoist. There is some truth to marxism, though I don't subscribe to it completely. I take what I see as true from an ideology and leave the rest.

There is no distinguishing officials of the state and the business elites . Advanced capitalism results in an incestuous revolving door relationship. The Federal Reserve is stocked with Goldman Sucks cronies, and those who leave office go to Goldman. The politicians are all on the financial elites payrolls, and are effectively their employees.

States themselves are the result of literal military conquest. There is scarcely a state that exists today which did not emerge from some military action or the threat thereof.

The people who work for the state work for the finance elites. You can scarcely understand the near omnipotence their unfathomable wealth gives them. How that, with a wave of their hand, they can bestow riches on anyone and bend them to their will, how the average income of the average person is proportionately a thousandth of a penny of their net worth. Politicians all grovel before the altar of coin. They are indebted to them. Even the superrich are slaves to the terrible God money.

Sure, I understand the concept of having your own ideology, I was just teasing you. I understand perfectly well what you said about the states, however the inception of a given state bears no relation to the individual civil servants or politicians (the leaders of the civil servants) as of now, and thus they can't be blamed for the existance of the state. I am also perfectly aware of the amount of wealth the wealthy have.
Idk how it works in the US since I am.not from the US. It seems to me the ideas you have exposed would naturally lead to socialism, which is fine (idk if you are gonna get offended, after all, this is 4chan).
A note on power related to revolution (unrelated to what I was talking about, I don't imply the necessity of revolution by mentioning socialism) I have just come up with. You cannot eliminate the power society by gathering enough power to destroy it, power begets itself, do not underestimate man's ability to screw over strangers when under pressure.

I'm ambivalent about socialism largely because it implies some degree of collectivizing and herding people together into masses based on their class interests . As for how I feel about revolution, I would like to see one that is two thirds successful, so that it gets far enough to shake up the elites enough for some of their money to fall out of them. I do think that the logic of markets are based on some as of yet undiscovered natural law or organizing principle, and that it is mistaken to assume that true, lasting solidarity can be forged on the basis of a contrived category such as class or that this class identity would take precedence over more primal identifications of family, ethnicity, tribe.

Marxism goes wrong in that if you analyze it sufficiently class reveals itself to be a spook. Even though marxism defines class concretely in terms of how groups relate to the means of production via relations of ownership or labor, one rich asshole doesn't necessarily identify with another rich asshole just because they both own a bunch of shit and one asshole worker doesn't love another just because they're working stiffs.

Capitalism does not result in competition , competition results in capitalism. Even in a socialist state like the USSR two comrades might vie for the same position as salt mine supervisor so that they can upgrade their living compartment to the next grade.

Marx also acts as though social mobility is impossible under capitalism and that the diligent worker can't one day own anything and build wealth. Although this does presuppose wealth is not ultra-concentrated.

The dynamics of power are also irreducibly associated with an imbalance of power. I have no power over one who has equal or greater power than me and vice versa. Equality is one of the dirtiest spooks of all.

Equal opportunity is a preposterous concept as well. What constitutes an opportunity is a function of a person's competences. And it is impossible to socially engineer equal competences without some horrific dysgenic bio-leninist project that hobbles the strong and more capable for the benefit of the weak. More competent people have more opportunities. What should be done is that everyone should be given an equal opportunity to gain more competence.

Anyways I kinda veered into Nietzchean territory with this post lol

Sure, I don't agree with ethnicity being more powerful than class, for example, I'd like to know why you think that and if it's personal experience I'd like to tell you I do not feel any stronger affinity with people of my ethnicity, and my ethnicity is not even well defined.
I don't agree at all that revolution would trickle down any of the wealth of the elites and, the same way you find fault in categorizing people through their class because of a relation between the members of one class isn't necessary, I find fault in your characterization of the elites, and by extension the supposed power they are able to exercise upon the world for their own interests.
Revolution would not be a good way in the slightest of redistributing the wealth of the "elites" (I am not even implying an equal redistribution), revolution is war, war only brings misery, and if lost, subjugation, as I implied with my previous post a post revolutionary society that upholds the values of the revolution cannot be mantained, with the power that we already have we should aim to make elites less powerful and the population richer, it is very unrealistic to expect any material improvement after revolution, as the entire economy will likely take a hit and there would be a good possibility of war, which would greatly damage the economy and the population and the prestige of the state; the only way would be mild insurrection with the approval of practically the whole population.
Also, in my opinion, the critiques of equality might be the biggest spook of them all: yes everyone that talks about equality talks about equality of opportunity; yes everyone that talks about equality of opportunity talks about equality of opportunity talks about material equality (or as you put it, equality of opportunity to gain competence). Nobody wants to cut the knees of the tall so everyone is the same height.

I wanted to make him as authentic as I could within the world, as if he has history in it and isn't just inserted there. I'm still writing more for him from time to time. Probably going to transcribe some of it to weathered paper just to have some interesting props that I can show.

Everyone says I'm smart and talented. My roommates, my professors, my parents, my coworkers, almost everyone.
Deep down, I know I am not.
I had a math class today and this happens quite frequently in classes, a teacher will work on a problem, and when asking for an answer, will say "oh yes it is x very good anon" In reality I do not say anything. Dead silent.
I started a macroeconomics class in the spring, and when I saw the graphs first day and was told we were going to analyze them, I asked if we needed Calculus, as they looked like graphs I saw in a calc textbook. From then on assumed I was the smart one in the class. I do not even understand Calculus.
I am lost on what to do with my life, and when people ask what I want to do, I don't have an answer, so I just say "I like math"
These 3 words manifest in the worst ways.
My roommate was bored and took me to pick out cigars, and we talked and he sees how lonely I am. To cut it short he said
>I see the kind of person you are, a 9-5 would be a dead end to you.
>I see you working on things like quantum physics, inner circles of highly talented individuals
This was followed by
>people like you, who don't find their circles, are driven to suicide.
What do I even say? I'm a retard. I'm in pre-calculus as a 24 year old. My father believes I can go all the way to a PhD.
Socrates was being ironic when said he wasn't wise, but I am not.
What the fuck? this is disheartening, I cant live up to expectations, expectations I do not even know how come to be.

I'm a fucking retard for believing this shit. 4 years later and I haven't made a single friend. The only reason anyone gives a fuck about me is because they can use me to fill shitty details and because they have to do paperwork when I fuck up.
>bro you got promoted fast isn't that worth something
Wow, great, I'm an NCO, now I can go supervise shitty details instead. Would have been cool if I got the stripes for being a good soldier or something but no, it was because they needed bodies to fill manning slots and I happened to meet the TIG/TIS reqs. A boot could fill my spot just as well.
>bro calm down you probably don't have any friends because you're so bitter all the time
I am bitter. I fucked up the opportunities that came my way and instead of Being All I Can Be or whatever, I've spent my time in uniform slowly figuring out how worthless I am. I don't have the self-confidence to fill a thimble. My subordinates know the big scary NCO shtick is a desperate act to save face and my supervisors know I'm just a PV5 in a high-speed body. I second-guess every decision I make because I've learned that I'm usually making the wrong one.

You are what you think about the most. You are what you do. Habituation.
Repeated thoughts. Repeated action. Habits. Habits make a person.
You do what you think about, what you do everyday is an habit, habits are you. And so are your thoughts and words.
You do what you speak about. You speak about what you think. Thinking, talking, doing, repeating, being.

Why do I not write? because I don't think about writing.
Why am I a coomer?
Because I think about porn, talk about porn, jerk off and jerf off everyday. An identity is made: coomer.
How do I become a writer? I first think about writing, then I speak about writing. Then I'm writing. Then I'm writing everyday. Then I'm a writer.

>Who, in your estimation, is good enough?
I don't know. I just know I'm not, and that almost anyone would be doing better in my shoes, whether it's in my position at work, with my personal relationships, or with my hobbies. I know that seeing myself as not good enough implies some standard of "good enough" to be measured against, but to me that standard is just not being a burden and causing problems for people, a standard that most people seem to clear easily but that I can't seem to even get close to. It's like everything I do, I fail to think all the way through and it ends up becoming an issue for whoever else is involved. And again, I know that's just me universalizing my issues, but knowing that it's irrational to feel this way doesn't really assuage the feeling itself.

>I don't think they do either or they wouldn't be so vague.
There's no need to be so obtuse, you know full well it's vague because it includes everything from local sporting events, cafes, bars, shopping malls, art galleries, town squares, tourist traps, strip clubs, churches, knitting circles, dance studios, hotel lobbies and thousands of other places too numerous to name which share one crucial quality in that they are all on the outer side of your domicile and require you to go outside in order to visit them.
Now, what are you going to do to change your situation? what's 45 minutes away which has your greatest chance of giving you some social interaction. Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Don't make excuses not to. What gives you the best chance and why? What gives you the second best chance, why is it different?

>a standard that most people seem to clear easily
Can you name 10 people who you can confidently say are in fact not causing problems for other people? If you believe it's most people, then this should be a very easy task.
I think it's obvious what I'm getting at -- as you say -- universalizing issues, standards not based in any particular tangible reality: I have a feeling that when you start to actually specify and try to look for concrete examples of things then the oppressive self-criticism sort of dissolves or crumbles into smaller, much more actionable particles.

Not sure if it's the sign of a civilized society or a climate where it's too cold to extend extremities, because as we all know Arab men will hold hands both as a public expression of solidarity, but probably also for risk mitigation: I assume if you're holding a guy's hand and you stab him, he is likley to stab you back. I feel somewhat distressed that I write the kinds of novels that /lit/ generally doesn't read. I've only got one or two intelligent people I respect that read my work, and while maybe I should be satisfied with that, sometimes it feels like it's not enough. Not that I necessarily respect the average person on /lit/, but there aren't a ton of literature forums out there where I feel confident that the average poster actually reads.

I do feel really good about the novel I'm currently working on though. I just need to keep trucking away at it and move on to the next. And stop spending so much money commissioning art for it. Not that I can't afford it; I've been blessed with a cheap artist, and even though she's still a student her quality is pretty good. Maybe don't go as overboard for the next novel, though.

XXVIII
(Duchamp's ghost addresses Yves Saint Laurent)

The sum of sultan domes can't ever equal
The hilarity of cecropia caterpillars in a boy eye

Knowingly elaborate beyond its own reckoning, so sensitive to nuance
That it sorts fallen leaves by individual maple tree.

I will never know ecstasy prolonged as that implies
Nor will you in dreams of high summer day.

So continue as you are, as fireflies
Do in their ghostly wit

Of secondary appearances, slightly beautiful in the same sense that
Hawk moths are among moonlit petunias

In the eye of a man used to cruising the sprawl of imperial centres,
In which all women are lovable and slightly ridiculous.
