ITT we post the best self help books you've stumbled across.

My personal favorites include:
The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie
The 4-Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris.

What are your favorites? Recommendations? What are the most effective improoovement concepts?

Self help books are just mastubartory in nature, they tell you what you already know along with a lot of falsehoods and misconceptions.

What color's the bottom of that barrel, OP?

Any books on being productive that aren't written by some blogger whose main accomplishment is writing a book on how to be productive?

welp this is obviously cope, I'm sorry that reading so much literary fiction that you cannot make use of what you read

i too thought it was going to be cheesy rubbish, but i really liked it in the end. gave me a different perspective in a way. i liked that unlike most of these books it really argues against hustle culture and against self optimizitation as such

why would you want that? most succesful people dont really know why theyre succesfull and if you ask them they come up with some stupid stuff that is survivorship biased af.

id rather ask someone who really tried to figure exactly this out

qrd = how to physically change your brain. There are two types of neuro plasticity, most techniques only trigger the less powerful one.

This video gives the qrd in detail.

I highly recommend going deep on the topic, it will change your life especially if you have reoccurring behaviours you can't seem to change.

Pic related absolutely turned my life around. I managed to limit my visits to this board to 1-3 hours per month (which is quite a success coming from someone who used to waste 5h+ hours daily here). I got back into reading again and finally found motivation to do something with my life. However this was a month long process and I studied and sticked to the exercises in this book as autistically as I could. Generic bestseller books might be a good start but if you want genuine behavioural change, you need to put in a lot of work.

Most self-help books are filled with useless anecdotes nobody cares to read about. Almost all of them could be cut by 75%, but they choose to fill the pages with worthless garbage. That's why I don't read self-help books.
