It's also funny how all these so-called Tolkien experts who "just want it to be faithful to the books" believe that elves, hobbits and dwarves and men of the time should have exact racial codes of 21st century modern earth. Like I've literally seen people talking about "black elves", which makes no sense on multiple levels. There's no black elves in middle earth nor is there white elves, because black and white are social terms used by modern humans. What next, complaining because you saw a black squirrel in the series?

Maybe, but the fact that they hired non-whites and spread them through every race willy-nilly was enough to tell everyone that the creators had no respect for the source material , themes, or even for making a coherent fantasy world. There was no universe where Cordova was included that the show would have created in pious submission to Tolkien or his Middle Earth. Judging the show by the color of the skin of the actors is perfectly rational, you and the knee-jerk racist on /tv/ came to the same conclusion, it just took you longer because you inaccurately thought that it deserved a fair shot.
Although from what I've seen Cordova's acting is fine. The biggest problem with the show is that it's fanfiction, then that the characters all feel like humans LARPing, then the strange lore inaccuracies and omissions, then probably the diversity
