Hey /lit/
First notice that I'm not a native english speaker, just a student.
I don't post in this board often but today I need your help.
I want to start reading Julio Cortazar (who's from my homeland, Argentina) but I don't know where to start with him. I really don't know if you're going to know him. I think that he's internationally known but I really don't know.
So.. Where do you think that I've to start? Which is his best work?

You come to an American imageboard to ask a good starting point on a writer from your own country?

And the rest of the world wonders why we have such a big nutsack?

I don't know how much famous he's. He's very influential in latin-america, I didn't find a better place to ask than here.

Rayuela. It is a good starting point. And quite entretaining.

Hey argentinean guy, Julio Cortázar nació en Ixelles.

I recommend historias de cronopios & famas as a starting point. if you like that , read rayuela, todos los fuegos el fuego, bestiario, etc...

Rayuela si quieres leer una novela, Historias de cronopios y de famas si quieres leer sus cuentos cortos.

Saludos.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Roberto Bolano are the most famous latin-american authors internationally.

Cortazar is less well known in the U.S. but most large bookstores would have a copy of "Hopscotch" (Rayuela) so you should read that first.

Silly me, I thought Rayuela was the only thing he ever wrote
