I imagine there would be some kind of trend that the people who "practice what they preach" are people considered by the average person as being evil or corrupt.
Someone who has ideas for what changes should be made is fairly uncommon and much more someone who actually goes through with it.
Based solely on that it would be very rare someone is considered good.
The "good people" like MLK jr. or Gandhi were bitching about what other people were doing.
"be the change you want to see in the world" makes no sense in the context of Gandhi's life when their whole message was that they didn't want to change anything about themselves.
Meanwhile someone like Hitler goes "people should take responsibility for more than just themselves" and then took responsibility for all of Europe.
"Existentialism is a Humanism" by Sartre probably expresses this the best and the masses just are too dumb to confront the reality that doing anything is a mistake and that doing nothing is still an action.
This mass stupidity then leads to a demonization of people who take action rather than a demonization of those who do not so that the lazy can feel as though they are moral.

Philip K Dick is an interesting one. My guy wrote a shit ton of novels under the influence of amphetamines in the 60s. He also experimented with psychedelics, and was allegedly also on barbiturates and painkillers to sleep after the speed. He was also likely schizophrenic.

As such, the primary theme in his work is the central question of "what is reality?" The Sci-Fi setting and ideas are novel, but are mainly tools he used to explore philosophical ideas. Absolute legend.

He got off all the mad drugs sometime in the early 70s if I recall, then he has what he describes as a "loss of forgetfulness" when a pink beam is reflected into his third eye. He begins having many visions, which he forms numerous theories about, one of which being that life is actually a simulation created by the Roman Empire (and he is a rebel Chrisitian lmao). For the rest of his writing career - and life - he focuses heavily on religious and spiritual ideas.

That's the abridged version of the PKD story. But the mad cunt is a certified genius. Simply a master illusionist that suitably lived a life of illusion & mystery. As a result, he pumped out like 50 novels and fuck knows how many short stories...utter lunatic!

Only one thing you said there is remotely true, but even that has just the slightest touch of truth.
