I will be, unfortunately, too busy to read. I will be mercilessly fucking OPs mum right in the shitbox. I intend to make her bleed, then teach her the true meaning of boxing day.

In the meantime, I shall be reading OP's Mum: Why is she such a slag, and could OP's Homosexuality Have Been Avoided, by O.P. Isafaggot, and so I probably won't have time to fully appreciate the absolute intricacies of OPs abject and total girlyboy faggatronage.

tl;dr Fuck you, you cunt, I haev literraly fucked your mother.

tl;dr pt.2 If I let a man fuck me in the arse, am I entitled to expect a bacon sandwich in the morning? I am prepared to suck the maker of the sandwich to completion, and a faceful of spunk would be frankly a small price to pay.

Buy a book of annotations and use spark notes. There's no shame: nobody can be expected to understand the idiom of 1904 Dublin, let alone Joyce's imitation of every English prose style from Latinate, medieval, all the way up to Cardinal Newman. At the very least, read the two "schema" that show the framework of the novel and how it ties to the Odyssey.

For the effect they had upon me and the myriad moments of spiritual revelation/reflection, Les Miserables and Brothers Karamazov are both in the running for my favorite novel. I would love to be able to write something of the sort which, at least in my own estimation, would measure up to the enormity of what those two book achieved, for me, on the personal level.

In terms of writing ability, it's much harder to say. I recently read a book called The Elephant Keeper that executed the rare trick of remaining well-written and well-paced throughout, something which has become much harder to find in contemporary literature (I believe the book was published in 2004 or 2007, perhaps even later); in terms of writing ability, it stunned me.

Then there are the many books which quietly impressed me: The Stranger, The Catcher in the Rye, All of the Living, Out Backward (the first half).

I could go on and list off others, but in the end I think it's too hard to claim one book as being my most revered among hundreds of others.

That said, for the poster above me: Brothers Karamazov or Les Miserables. Flip a coin.
