Is Philosophy even worth getting into if I am a brainrotted dopamine fried 22 year old zoomer?

I bought a two volume Aristotle set for 60 bucks on sale and wanted to actually read it, but I'm wondering if I should read other Greek related books beforehand like Pre-Socratics, Aesop, Homer, Greek Playwrights, etc. to better appreciate that stuff.

tl;dr How does one start with the Greeks?

Aristotle is a very boring read.
I think Epictetus is the best starting point. Just read him with an open mind, rather than reading with the mindset "I'm right he is wrong".

Start with some lectures, an introduction and a history of philosophy. Don't just read Aristotle, it's borderline pointless.

depends what you want. don't read aristotle. read playdough or thucydides first imo. know that the socratics are at odds with actual greek culture.

Where do you go from Epictetus? How do you determine what to read next?

Start with Sartre and Camus and all that

You start by learning Greek. There's a Homeric course on YT

If you can manage the organon you can probably manage the rest of his works. Having read Plato beforehand will be helpful though.

Pre-socratics are a meme, you do not need to read them until you are fairly well into philosophy and you’ll know the time then yourself. Start with Plato’s five most lauded dialogues and then move on to Aristotle. I would recommend his ethics to begin with to get a hold on his argumentative style and book layout and then read his metaphysics after that. From here you should have a basic grasp of what the main branches of philosophy are: metaphysics, logic, ontology, ethics, and epistemology. You can proceed from here straight to early modern thinkers like Descartes, Locke, Leibniz, etc or you can continue reading the Greeks or even progress to medieval thought if you like. However, medieval thought will be very strange to you if you are not acquainted with that period historically. The Christian God is an axiom in almost every argument during the Middle Ages and their general outlook on the world is quite different than ours. You can discard all Roman “philosophers.”
