So /lit/, tell me about your favorite words, English or otherwise.

>zephyr
>persnickety
>halcyon
>sophistry
>une époque
>un siècle

I just like the way these words look, and there's something satisfying about saying them out loud, as well.

>> No.2374713

zephyr and halcyon are both really nice shades of blue

>> No.2374712

I have always felt that 'ridiculous' is my favorite word. For years really.

>> No.2374714

>Wayward
>Wanderlust
>Vagabond
They're just really sexy words. I wish I could use them, but most conversations don't involve the travel.

>> No.2374720

>avocado
>ice
>swivel
>milk
>lathe

>> No.2374728

Persnickety is a nice word.

Some of my faves;

>nodules
>cacophony
>misanthrope
>scrote

and obviously
>susurrus

I don't know why but I absolutely hate puckle and huckle.

>> No.2374734

>Dumbledore

And no, I don't mean the Harry Potter character.

Enfeeblement. It isn't a complex word, and it is hard to non-artificially insert it into writing in a non-contrived way, but god damn do I pounce on every opportunity to use it.

Also, if I am playing an RPG and a mage has an enfeeblement spell, I will spec that class no matter how shitty it is, and it often is [fucking crowd control debuffs in games where you kill an enemy in two hits anyway, faggots] just because I like making things feeble.

>> No.2374882

My all time favorite word is flow.

WOTYAY for me is "bereft."
I don't know whether to be aroused or calmed down.
Its the perfect mix of hard and soft sounds,
and there's a really odd strength to the word. Like, in the last syllable there's a subtle punch.
I cannot get enough of this word.... bereft.

>> No.2374911

Jökulhlaup.
It's a flood caused by (generally) a volcano erupting under a glacier.

>> No.2374912

>Banalities
>Fascist
>Virgin/Virginal
>Violent

For some reason all of these words sound beautiful to me.

Stay classy, /lil/

>> No.2374977

>>2374962
c'mon would a person in any other environment other than an anonymous message board say that? I can almost imagine the accompanying leer and facial tic, also getting a slightly lowered mouth corner with some spittle foaming and a thin strand of drool meandering downwards.

>> No.2374987

>>2374977
Actually, it was more a bemused chuckle upon reading the "pedo alert" comment, then a small sigh and an eye roll. My mouth was dry and my visage, tic-free: I was disappointed in my anonymous brother, for making the assumption that a man who takes pleasure in the word "maidenhead" might be accurately describe as a "pedophile". However, I did not feel the need to lapse into verbiage on the subject: a simple "stay classy", a phrase I do indeed often use in real life, seemed as suitable a response as any.
