What do you guys prefer /lit/?

Hardback or trade paper?

>> No.2378524

I don't see how anyone could prefer hardcover to paperback. The latter exists for practical motherfuckers who get their reading done in all crevasses of the earth. Hardcovers are for libraries and tables.

Trade paper. Hardbacks are too expensive and cumbersome

I like using my e-reader the most though. I only use physical books if there are a lot of images and diagrams[/spoiler

Hardcover looks nicer on my shelves, but I hate reading them.
Paperback is more comfortable to read, and looks meh on my shelves.
It usually depends on how much money I have to waste at the time, and the design of either format.

I don't care. Hardbacks look nice, specially if they are classics

Under an inch thick, hardcover.

Over, paperback.

Had a hardcover of Hitchiker's for ages, it was hell to read.

Hardbacks have a feeling of permanence to them, which is what I want out of my dead-tree books.

If I weren't interested in cementing ownership of the book into my mind, I'd go to the library or download an ebook.

The only hardcover I really give a shit about is my copy of Ulysses.

I have a paperback one.

Nobody'd bat an eye if you bought another copy.

Fucking this. As for it's longevity, I feel like a book should age as I do.

eReader? :[

>> No.2378663

Paperbacks generally but when it isn't prohibitively expensive I tend to buy hardcover repeats of books I love and know I'll be rereading or dipping into repeatedly in years to come. I travel a lot and even though its less practical to drag hardbacks along I like the memories of trips and places that a physical book can accumulate over the years and hate having to replace a copy like that.

>> No.2378683

I only buy hardback if it's first edition. Tradeback for convenience.
