When it comes to cover design, I like it very minimalistic and vectorized - exept for sci-fi/fantasy, where detailed digital art is great, but I don't read much contemporary ficion so I don't really care.

Well, I don't expect book covers to entertain me. I like them plain. Their main goal is to protect the pages and not to be ugly, annoying or calling attention to themselves.

Any object that I'm likely to look at and/or use a lot should be simple looking, in my opinion. I wouldn't be able to live with a polka dotted laptop, for example. It would start to bother me. Then again, my preference concerning aesthetics is very minimalistic in general.
