Another fun fact about the 1912 500 ruble note is that it was given out in exchange for gold, and rapidly became worthless in it's own time.

They sell for anywhere from ten to thirty dollars each or more on ebay, but can bring much more if you have notes with some of the rarer treasurers signatures or in especially pristine condition.

I picked up five neat freebie magnetic bookmarks. It's essentially a flattened, flexible bar magnet folded on the middle. It wraps around the top of the page I'm reading so it doesn't fall out of the book in case I hold it upside down. It's pretty neat, actually.

Train tickets, plane boarding cards and toothpicks seem to be the most common things I use, looking around my desk. I most often just leave the book open, face down. Mainly because my mother told me I shouldn't because it's disrespectful to book sor some shit. Silly old besom that she was.
