What were Mark Twain's shit-tier novels, and what were his god-tier novels?

I fucking hated the Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn books.

But I'm willing to give Mr. Twain a second chance.

If you hated Huck Finn, then Mark Twain is dead to you. Move on to a different author.

Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn are generally considered to be his masterpieces.

If you didn't like them, then >>2792270 with the rest.
It also makes you an idiot.

Give "The Mysterious Stranger" a spin. It's radically different than either Adventures. Too short to be a novel, but it's still a masterpiece.

Recollections of Jeanne d'Arc

No one reads it, but the prose is beautiful.

I might be wrong, but didn't Twain think that was his best?

I actually just discovered 1601, which he apparently published anonymously and didn't own up to it until he was nearly dead.
