I want to read Faust, how accessible is it?

>> No.3192780

Who's Faust?

Doesn't matter. Goethe's and Marlowe's are both quite easy (the first part of Goethe's, anyway).

i caution you not to read it too quickly, goethe wrote very slowly and if one reads it faster than he wrote it, one could develop philosophical haemorrhoids or a halitosis, at least according to my knowledge of literary physiology. therefore, monsieur, this is my modest advice: read marlowe's version before goethe's, goethe's version before st. paul's, and form an interlinear of all three, and read all 3 side by side by side using the latest speed reading techniques, which will help your comprehension to keep up with the pace of the reading eye.

Scardinelli, 1765.
