Where would someone start with Bukowski? I see some hate about him here every so often. Is he worth reading?

Out of all the writers in the world why does there have to be a discussion about fucking bukowski EVER SINGLE DAY.

Just fucking read Ham On Rye.

Don't listen to him, Opie, start with Post Office.

No! His shorts are better. Begin with Hot Water Music.

Because it's one or a few sad motherfuckers who post the same thread every day.

It's one tripfag called Bullkowski who posts these threads, then he jumps inside to rant about him.

Forget Bukowski, OP. He's way overrated.
Start reading based T.C. Boyle

Start with Ham on Rye, it's my favorite of his.

Also read some of his poetry even if poetry isn't your thing.

>> No.3437878

My favorite is Post Office, but I started with Factotum.

Factotum got me hooked, so I guess that'd be a good place to start.

I haven't seen him in like two weeks. It would seem backwards for him to be making Bukowski threads and then never posting in them.

>> No.3437936

>>3437929
It's his new tactic. If he posts multiple Bukowski threads and hides, he thinks a board resentment will grow.

Hm. That could be true.

No don't read him. He is a really shitty writer.

I read Ham on Rye first and loved it. I read Post Office next and it was good. I made it about 60% of the way through Women before I got bored and stopped reading. It may have just been that I was reading too much Bukowski in a row that I got bored but I highly recomend Ham on Rye.
