Why does no one here attend Oxford/Cambridge?

>> No.3449838

I've seen a few people claim to be studying English/Lit there under scholarship.

Are you currently at Uni? If so, which one?

>> No.3450091

Cus they're for cunts

Also I'd have never got in. But even if I could, I wouldn't.

2expensive

i just checked the rankings, skipped the first 3-4 (oxford, cambridge, imperial, st andrews) and applied for 5 from top 10 for computer science

got accepted at all of them

I don't think I could play up to the act enough for the interview process even if I'd gone for it.
That said every fucking lecturer I know of seems to have gone to them

what's the act?

what are these interviews about?

>> No.3450128

Too lazy at A levels to put in the work, thus I instead study in happy mediocrity.

Being a posh cunt.

>> No.3450130

Because I applied for a loan and founded a company instead of going to uni. Best decision I ever made.

can you elaborate?

i know a smart guy who has crazy social skills and failed the interview for oxford. i can't understand how it's possible for him to fail an interview because his game is flawless. looks + tall + funny + confident + everything

are oxford famous for having weird criteria regarding interviews or smth?

You have to basically pretend to be into a very specific style of poncy shit to convince them.
The guy I know who got in to Cambridge was posh sounding and specifically read Vanity Fair just to bring it up in discussion.
That said my friend who went to Oxford for Physics was just nerdy as fuck and genuinely in love with the subject so I think it depends on the area you're studying.
For a final anecdote someone else I know didn't get in (think it was for history) and by the last day/session of interviews he was the only non-private school pupil there.

I can easily see why your guy didn't get in if he was a humanities student, sciences I'm less sure of.

Couldn't you have just done that when you finished
