Found this infograph on leddit. Is this a good list of books?

>> No.4436890

Paulo Coelho and Neil Gaiman are shit.

Yes. I approve of this list. Who am I? Nobody. This list is high quality entry level literature, if you want to be a cultured person.

Pagenumbers are for remembering where you stopped reading, not for knowing how much pages a book is, lettertypes can change.

>Paulo Coelho

This. If you suggest the reading of Paulo Coelho you are either retarded or are acting in bad faith. This guy is not only a bad writer, but also a terrible human being: coward, liar, arrogant, charlatan (for example, he once hit a boy with his car and fled the scene; he state that he can control the weather; se assured that he once made a pact with the demon; he lied about his youth and sex life, painting himself in much more impressive colors; he forced a girlfriend to make an abortion, and other things – he is, you can see, a piece of trash). He is some kind of cultural cancer (well, the world is full of them – just take a look at rap and hip hop).

I really think this piece of shit should die: the world would be a cleaner place.

My dog writes better than Coelho when he shits.

But Gaiman is fairly good, I enjoy Sandman and most of his novels

those are all very quick reads

i would never recommend 90% of that list to any adult but there's some good stuff. i think that list might have been made for children/"young adults" though. most of the books on there I read around the age of 10-14.

Sandman is Gaiman's best work by a million miles. He just isn't a great novelist, but Sandman is legitimately unsurpassed in its medium for me. And that's not just because of the general lower quality of comics.

so essentially he's like every other human being that's ever existed ever?

I'm just wondering what a person's personal life has to do with the quality of their writing.

I read the Alchemist, and honestly it wasn't as horrible as you make it out to be. Sure it was a little force feedy, but nothing is black and white like the picture you paint.
