Obvious bait. When speaking so plainly and broadly like this you can find ways to argue that every single degree is useless; and, in a similar fashion, you can rationalize every degree.

ouch my feelings are really hurt

I feel like this is probably a devaluating and oversimplified way to talk about degrees.

Next up you'll be talking about "value for money" as a good metric for study!

I've never met a gay dude throughout several years of studying English. I guess it's not even good for that!

The sophisticated arguments employed by this picture are really throwing me into an existential crisis right now. Thanks a lot OP.

I'm not telling you how much you fucking faggot, if I said it was a million you'd still call me a poorfag.

It's a startup company dealing with the PR industry. The dress code is casual, which frightens me the the most since I dress like a faggot.

Well paying for a guy my age, nothing to brag about but it's higher than average.

Yeah I'm working with a bunch of young people apparently so they'll probably be trendy as hell. I hope they don't smell the autism on me.

Do people seriously pick degrees based on their usefulness, and not on what they're interested in?

A degree isn't some magical "get a job" card, don't think just because you have one you're on your way to success.

The last startup I worked for had a casual dress code and I got "talked to" because I wore this shirt. I didn't see what the big deal was.

This is how I know this board is populated by college students.

Unless you are going to an Ivy, planning on entering academia, or full scholarship with a trust fund, you will have to support yourself. College is a means to that end, otherwise you are just pushing off the inevitable for 4 years. Eventually you will find a mate and reproduce, at which time you will need to support yourself and them by some means.

unless you are one of those "work at starbucks to support my one room apartment and books and basic needs and live a fulfilling life on a tangent away from normalcy and material culture" in which case I admire you to an extant, but honestly ask you if you really think that a majority live by your personal code

If you study something for effectively two years (after general classes) and can't find a way to apply it to any job, that's not a problem with what you studied, it's a problem with you.
