I like the likes of philp k dick shit but I dont want his works read aa lot of them.

I liked hosue of leaves and Vernon God Little just tired reading The stand but couldnt get into it.

I'll just make my mandatory Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash recommendation. The Diamond Age is even better, but a little longer, and Snow Crash can get you accustomed to his writing style.

I've read parts of the Windup Girl, but I had also read a bunch of short stories by the same author before (I think they were in a Humble Bundle)

It's a relatively interesting world (albeit the modern left GM scare included), what made me drop the book is realising that it's basically the short stories re-written into one long story
