The Idiot, Dostoevsky.
>What's it about?
An innocent Swiss prince becomes wrapped up in Russian drama.
>Is it any good?
Not Karamazov / Crime and Punishment-tier, closer to that of Demons (AKA Possessed, Devils), but it's a definitely good read for Russophiles like myself.

Surely You're Joking, Mr.Feynman.

A physicist and his quirky personality.

It somehow manages to be funny and intelligently informative at the same time. This will not be the last time I read this book.

What are you reading, OP?

>> No.676625

>What are you reading?
The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga
>What's it about?
Not quite sure. It's basically seems to be about an Indian writing a letter to the Chinese Premier who is going to be paying a visit to India to try and open his eyes to the 'real India'.
>Is it any good?
Haven't really gotten far enough to judge it properly. Quite interesting and a few bits are rather funny.

I'm reading The Complete Stories of Flannery
O'Connor. I just finished re-reading "The Barber" - it's
about a political discussion that happens between a
barber and his customer. The customer becomes
obsessed with making the barber see his point of
view. I think it's one of her best stories.

All the Pretty Horses, Cormac Mccarthy.

West Texas kid runs off to Mexico when his divorced parent's ranch goes under.

It's a good semi-literary adventure story so far.

The shade of the poet Virgil takes Dante the Pilgrim through the various circles of hell (I am only on the first book, Inferno) and shows him all the tormented souls in there.

It's very good. Grossman was one of the best Marxist writers. It's surprisingly easy to read and includes and excellent summary of Marx's method.
