>"Literature" is just some bullshit lists "adults" enjoy composing when in reality the real canon is anything you enjoy reading.

I don't agree with this. Works that are part of a canon are usually there for a reason. This person just seems like they're having a fit because they're pickier than "the average joe" about what they read, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. But suggesting that canons are just arbitrary lists is false.

>Fuck you for being an "adult"
>Sure, I love YA as much as Proust, Nabokov, and Woolf.
>And I have read way more than the average joe. Like 800
>Yet, I feel the need sometimes to read something YA at times.

>Yet, I feel the need to eat shit at times.

The last time I read top 5 popular YA novels on goodreads they were all shit and had to drop them.

Sure YA has great novels, but the biggest majority is utter shit. Most of the most read are shit.
And I've read great YA novels, but I don't go asking on reddit or goodreads because I know what they'll recommend me and it's shit.

Did you literally drop them? Like onto the floor?

I threw a few, but I don't think that counts as dropping.
