So Anon, what is it that you like most about /lit/?

Personally, I like that Anon can discuss books, but the board still has the devilish humor of 4chan that we (most of us anyway,) have come to both love and loath.

>> No.923463

i like stagolee

>> No.923478

OP, that's exactly what I loved about /lit/ when it appeared. Summer /lit/ sucks donkey monkey balls.

OH FUCKING SHIT, you guys...You know how a cross between a tiger and lion is a liger? what the fuck would they call a cross between a donkey and a monkey?

>> No.923510

I like that /lit/ isn't overrun with misogyny, homophobia, and racism but also not afraid to discuss or poke fun at it.

Basically it's the only intellectual corner on the chans. So, pretty much the same reason you like it OP

It's the only board where at least a few posters think that racism and misogyny are an asinine waste of time.

Although misogyny is not so great, I kind of like the way it rolls of the tongue... Is that bad?

Except for all the threads about "lolol my wife wanted to play so the DM set it up so her character was gangraped to death" or anything to do with having female characters.

at least it's not as bad as /ck/, which is comparable to /lit/ in many other regards.

Yeah but those threads are generally met with quite a bit of negativity. If you were to make a similar thread on (pretty much) any other board, the OP would receive nothing but praise.

I like the fact that I'm filthy rich, yet some people are stupid enough to buy me books (gotten 2) and really think I'm gonna pay it back. Sucks to be you.

I guess I'm on at the wrong time when those threads pop up because /co/, /r9k/, /b/, and /tg/ seem to all have tons of "lol rape" threads. At least the ones on /tg/ don't have exact directions like the other boards.

I like all the women and non-white people actually being able to note their race or gender when it is pertinent to the subject without a flame fest. It's awesome to see a "female author" or "black author" thread only half full of idiocy.

This board is pretty much full of pretentious snobs most of the time. However, I do enjoy the occasional people who post lists of books they like that aren't on various required reading lists. From what I've seen these people tend to get "yelled down" for having bad taste . . . but I seriously enjoy that they bring something different to the table.
