What's a /lit/ approved book that will give me a rundown on all major philosophers/philosophical schools of thought. Ie a book that helps explain Chinese, Greek, Muslim, Modern philosophers etc etc

I'm not sure there exists a /lit/-approved book that provides a substantive and useful overview of Western, Eastern, and Middle Eastern thought. For Western history of philosophy, Copleston's is the most popular.

As mentioned, Copleston is good for western phil.
