I don't know if "exists in consciousness" is the right way of putting it. The way I understand object permanence is that it is a heuristic-like relationship with the "unknown unknown." For all the baby knows, after the veil is put into place, that monkey could have ceased existing. But our experience with things disappearing and reappearing while remaining intact shows that there's a strong likelihood that objects continue to exist despite us not being conscious of them. There's no guarantee though. On the other hand, a baby with no object permanence has no relationship with the "unknown unknown." Out of sight, out of mind.

My Grandmother asked me for a novel recommendation; she's looking for something new (let's say post-1995, but more recent is better). She wants something of literary value, and of course she's an old lady so nothing too experimental/masculine/degenerate.

I read Holocaust denial literature in my free time for fun. I fully support the mainstream narrative about the Holocaust but these revisionist books are just too comfy to read, they're like late 90s/early 00s blogs condensed into a book format

I'm having trouble understanding the difference between primary imagination vs. fancy. Isn't fancy just the result of exercising the primary imagination faculty without the "it" factor? It seems redundant to me. Instead of having primary imagination, secondary imagination, and fancy, why not just have fancy vs. imagination? I'm confused.
