In my (ausfag) highschool we had to read a readers digest version of Beau Geste. That means it was condensed, subplots deleted, rewritten into 'colloquial' language. I really enjoy the full version of beau geste now though, simply because to me it represents triumph over adversity

Race always has, and always will exist. Its just a part of life, but humans define borders on anything, whether it be the river rhine, the colour of their skin or their spiritual beliefs.
Nazi germany I believe was not an inherently evil nation, certainly not outdoing imperial Japan or the allied forces in terms of atrocities. But such is war.

Also I've met quite a few jews in my time (having jewish blood in my veins), and most of them are just extremely intelligent, normal people that are most of you would actually get along with quite fine.

I think the primary issue is that people use a 68 year old war to categorise people based on their opinions of Israel as a state. If you don't believe it should exist, you aren't necessarily a nazi.

This is utter bullshit. Tolkien served in the first world war and was in the Somme. He wrote several of the battle scenes for lord of the rings, including the siege of Minas Tirith whilst in a trench. Gene Wolfe fought in the Korean war and wrote after he returned.

I live in a small state (The smallest), which used to be super wealthy and so we have huge libraries but not so many people. Loads of 19th century literature but basically nothing preceding that.
But yeah, the floor with computers is just the homeless, people using free internet, and the elderly. Thank goodness for university library
