At least it's not as bad as /mu/'s, where you can easily get away with saying they don't like music.

For OP, try some Thomas Ligotti, haven't read too much of him, but I've heard he's somewhat like today's Lovecraft.

Banning abortion causes victims. 20 years after they legalized it here, criminality went down by a noticeable percentage. I think I don't have to explain the correlation.

Not necessarily, I hated Godard after watching Alphaville for the first time. After about six months, I saw Bande à Part, which was decent.
Couple of weeks later I checked out À bout de souffle and Pierrot le fou, and only now I was convinced he was a genius.
Oh, and I also checked Alphaville out again last week, it was great.

Miles Davis hated Ornette Coleman's trumpet playing, does that mean Coleman is bad? Nope, it means Davis had different thoughts about jazz.
So how about forming your own opinions on art?

Although, I have to admit I've only read things by Critchley, Habernas and Zizek of those.

Might take me a while before I get there, but I'll let you know something once I finished it.
Anyway, I'm not expecting an extraordinary good read or anything, I'm merely interested in how the beats developed their writing style. If your interests aren't somewhat similar, you probably don't have to bother with it.

If, at this moment, one percent of the world population owns forty percent of the world's wealth, I'd say it's achievable to have a comfortable living situation for every citizen, once wealth is distributed more evenly.

Just one example I remember, since I've seen a documentary about it. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1601213))

Also, before man learned how to agriculture, groups were led by women, since men were always out hunting. Only after men could gather food without leaving home all day, they took over control.

Tears flowed when, at the end of the first part, Miranda died.
Also laughed out loud several times while reading Kerouac's On the Road.

Dutch is my first language, yet I've never heard that one before, anyway, correct Dutch spelling would be 'zee-eendenverzekeringsmaatschappijen'.

You also might fancy the word 'hottentottententententoonstelling' which means 'Khoikhoi tent exhibition', and can actually be used, although probably not in a daily context.

Anyway, my favorite 'English' word probably be nuisance, or maybe krissakes, if that counts.

I had the same thing when I was looking for a quote from a Jeromes Dream song, couldn't find anything till it appeared in wikipedia after a good three years. Apparently, they got it from some 80's VHS tape on depression, found in the local library.
Just to say that there's still information and media out there that haven't made it to the Internet.

If the band isn't that big, and they're still around, you can probably just ask them in an email.

Is there actually a point in calling Ludwig van Beethoven 'Ludwig Van' instead of just 'Beethoven'? It just sounds that much more snobbish to me.

>"Who do you think was the greatest writer to live? Do you think your taste in literature reflects your taste in visual art?"

To be honest, the way OP puts it makes sound more /lit/-related than yours.
On topic: I kind of got disinterested in visual arts after being in art college for a couple of years. Got sick of all the artists I used to love. i still appreciate dada though, since they also originated from a similar disinterest. And yes, there are quite some writers I like who are in some way related to that movement.

>Got my whole left forearm burned, second degree, when I threw a teapot of boiling water in the face of a burglar, and half of it splashed back.
>Didn't notice anything till the cops came 20 minutes later, after I could knock him out and lock him in.
>Dead skin everywhere but didn't really feel like going to the hospital for it.
>Did anyway, since the cops already called an ambulance for me.
>Got prescription for codeine painkillers, since it ought to hurt like hell.
>Didn't need them, as the only thing I felt during the recovery was a slight tingling from the bandages.

Was a weird fight though, I just came back from a night of drinking, he was also drunk and either intoxicated on other drugs or just retarded. I kindly asked him to leave first, but he insisted on fighting, even after his face got covered with burn wounds. I mean, I'm 6'4, half a foot taller than he was, and he knew I lifted weights, since there were dumbbells laying around in my room. What the hell did he expect?
