>Lolita is a novel by Vladimir Nabokov, first written in English and published in 1955 in Paris and 1958 in New York, and later translated by the author into Russian.

the books in the "great" category are books that have moved me in some way or leave me thinking about them for months after i've read them.

"enjoyable" books are just books that i thought had good stories and good writing and stuff.

"bad" books are books i think are badly written, boring, or are solely famous because they benefit from cliches like social issues.

i just didn't like them
karamazov bored me to tears. and everyone is so sentimental.
lolita was too flowery and masturbatory. the french in the middle of every paragraph wasn't good writing, it was just stupid.
i only read a little bit of portrait, so you shouldn't consider anything of what i have to say about it really.
the trial was dense. for a 200 page book or so, it felt 5 times its length. i don't think there's anything appealing about his writing. maybe that's the point though.

if atheism is so good, how come every major literary work is based upon religious texts?
