Let it be known, of course, that I am *aware* that I am arguing with a zealot. It must be stressed that this and its details is and are of little or no consequence to the point of the original post.

You're right. I haven't read that work. This is because I specifically only read books (fiction & non-fiction), short stories, poetry, creative writing, etc. Of which - religious scholasticism is not a component.

I know exactly what belongs on /lit/.
Literary discussion of religious works is welcome. Religious ("philosophical", as you have chosen to put it) discussion of religious works does not belong here and is welcome on /his/.

You're right. I suppose you convincingly raise reasonable doubt concerning that one thread among over two hundre- awww, that's too bad. No, you don't. At least you tried, though! That's worth something, and don't let anyone tell you that it isn't!

Let us begin with an examination of the rules, restrictions and resources.

------------

/lit/ is for the discussion of literature, specifically books (fiction & non-fiction), short stories, poetry, creative writing, etc. If you want to discuss history, religion, or the humanities, go to /his/. If you want to discuss politics, go to /pol/. Philosophical discussion can go on either /lit/ or /his/, but those discussions of philosophy that take place on /lit/ should be based around specific philosophical works to which posters can refer.

Check the wiki, the catalog, and the archive before asking for advice or recommendations, and please refrain from starting new threads for questions that can be answered by a search engine.

/lit/ is a slow board! Please take the time to read what others have written, and try to make thoughtful, well-written posts of your own. Bump replies are not necessary.

-------------

We have established these things. There can be no refutation of these things because it is by their being the rules that they are the rules.

Now, let us examine the thoroughness of the application of the above rules, restrictions and resources.

I don't think you know which board /lit/ is; we're not /b/ or /v/ or /fit/ or /pol/. Discussion of sexual mores is here aside to *literature*.
also, you obviously don't remember the constant low-effort shill/troll threads of his books from 2010-12

...I don't know what you're referring to. Do you mean from 2011-2? Because then yes. Or was there something that popped up the other day which I missed? More importantly, how the fuck do you know my age?

>Rangaha, wasn't /lit/ better back in the day?
Fuck, yes. Because it was all communal and every user actually tried to keep track of the writing style (and partial history) of other posters so as to know which jokes to tell, which arguments to give etc so as to not make redundant points or threads. I remember shit where like zed or D&E would outright call out an anonymous poster on something they'd written in a previous thread to prove they'd contradicted themselves in an argument about continentalists. It's so difficult to imagine that sort of thing happening nowadays given the odd proliferation of stock material ("based", etc).
