Statement soon to come regarding the cum guzzling anon, whose autism has reached levels that were never thought possible. His dedication to creating a sequel to TLoTiaT has put the project in an uncertain state.

>Hey op why don't you try Writing the story instead of planning it out? Have you ever written a book before

Well then what would be the purpose of making the project collaborative, anon? Also I didn't come up with the initial premise either, it was a created by gathering the ideas of several anons brainstorming together.

Most of you are probably aware by now, but in case you aren't, /lit/'s most ambitious collaborative writing project is currently underway.

Want to be involved? It's easy, just read over the basic premise (found in the posts below) and jump into one of the Google Docs to start contributing.

Because of the inherent complexity of the project, there are three (3) Google Docs currently running

The first is the Planning Doc, where all of the planning (whether it's coming up with character names, chapter arcs, potential titles, themes, styles, cover art, etc) for the main sections of the novel will occur:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mRH7rfS21WKMPzLEDMxcRtnB38rpkraTgL4dOKBlJIo/edit?usp=sharing

The second is the Writing Doc, where you can submit prose for any chapter. It is worth noting that each main chapter has a vague premise, so the writing here is not completely free form. Chapters will periodically be added to this doc and become available for contribution, as the details for each chapter are ironed out and agreed upon:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/18qUc-Q9RwgUnfu30W2mfa3FxosUMkSE0PVKKXBqrz1I/edit?usp=sharing

And finally, there is the Interludes and Appendices Doc. This is where if you can just put something down on the page, whether it's something you wrote three years ago and think it might fit somehow, or something you wanna write specifically for the project. The writing here is almost completely freeform, and need only be tangentially related to the rest of the text (more details given in the Doc itself). There is a place for both poetry and prose here:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-cp4Avh4E2VYGLPdV1afZnKsZeY-2_GUVjqyRNeKFmE/edit

If you are having trouble understanding how this all works, which is very understandable, do not worry. In the posts below will be a quick, but detailed, rundown of the basic premise for the project. I would recommend ALL anons read through this rundown before contributing to either doc, to ensure that we are all on the same page.

Worth Noting:
- The current title (Pantheon) is just a working title. Title and cover art discussion is currently taking place in the planning doc
- Periodically, you may find that public editing is restricted. This will usually be because a pesky anon has been meddling with or mass deleting the document. During these times you can still edit and add comments, your edits will simply remain pending until approval. I will do my best to approve all edits as soon as possible during these times.
- Always feel free to post your contributions, criticisms, discussions and whatever else in the thread as well, if you don't feel like going straight to the documents
- And finally, if you have any questions or confusions about the project, do not hesitate to ask!

I think I've come up with a good way to handle all the docs and the writing of all the chapters.

The doc that is currently the Stirner chapter doc will simply become the 'writing' doc for the main sections. So all in all there will be three docs, one for the interludes and appendices, one for the planning of the main chapters, and one for the writing of the main chapters.

Each chapter will eventually move over to the writing doc as the details become finalised, just like the Stirner chapter already has (the next will be the DFW chapter).

Anyone can contribute however much they want to the writing of the main chapters, as long as they adhere to the basic details, like the name of the god for that chapter and the question they ask anon, etc. Once all the writing is done (which can take any amount of time, there is no urgency) we can curate it and organise it into something that resembles chapters with a basic narrative structure.

I'll relaunch the Stirner doc as just the 'writing doc' some time today, and the next thread will begin with all three in the OP.

Anon could also potentially answer 'no, the ego is not a spook'. I'm just not sure if it would be as interesting/potentially humorous, but if someone could make it work then all the better

Moving forward, there are two matters to be discussed:

1. The next chapter

The decision process for the Stirner chapter seemed to work quite well. Unless anyone objects, we will move through the next chapter, which will be the David Foster Wallace chapter, in basically the same fashion.

2. The actual writing of the Stirner/Watashi chapter

We have two options here. We can keep the Stirner doc open and complete the writing there, or move the finalised info back to the main doc, and have the writing take place there. The main reason for the latter option would be to avoid having too many docs running at once. Basically, we are deciding whether we wanna have a more chaotic/cluttered main doc, or simply operate with many simultaneous docs. Any input here would be greatly appreciated.

Watashi (the Stirner god) will ask anon, as his final ultimate judgement question etc, "Is the ego a spook?"

Personally, I like it. It opens up the chapter to basically anything. I would say though, that Anon's answer should probabbly be more than a mere 'yes' or 'no', but at least go some way to explaining why it is either a yes or a no.

I would already lean towards 'yes' as his answer, as it would 'defeat' Watashi even further, possibly even causing him to fade out of existence as I believe another anon suggested. But this is completely open to discussion.

For the whole text? Its hard to say. Judging by how many people I've seen in the doc and how many unique posters there have been in the threads, I'd say quite a few.

For the Stirner chapter? It looks like there's somewhere between 10 and 15 people actively contributing, be it small suggestions, larger contributions, or even just voting.

I've considered shilling the project, especially the strawpolls, in other threads but I have a feeling that might open the door to more griefing of the google doc. It could be an option later on but I don't feel there's a need to for it at this point. We seem to be moving along at a nice pace so far.

>Are any of the main folks involved of this, you/yall have a group project email (throwaway) address floating around?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm using litwritesanovel@gmail.com as a throwaway. If you wanna send anything there that's cool.

Also feel free to add whatever you write to the doc when its ready. I'll make sure it doesn't get deleted (as a general policy nothing that is going to be used or potentially get used gets deleted).

The way it works for writing is basically if you're the first person to actually write something for a section, or at least part of it, it's pretty much guaranteed to be used. Any contributions for that section that come after will ideally use whatever you wrote as a starting point, so it can all be fits together reasonably cohesively.

I remember what you are talking about. I believe the basic idea was that Nietzsche killed the one omnipotent God (the christian God with a capital G) which allowed the current pantheon to take charge, or perhaps they were purposefully ushered in by Nietzsche.

>Perhaps the hidden agenda of Anon, is to defeat the new god Nietshe, and assume power on the Pantheon

The idea of what happens after Anon 'defeats' the pantheon by answering all of their questions correctly has been briefly talked about. Having Nietzsche as the ultimate 'end boss' who shows up after the pantheon seems like a cool idea. He could engage Anon in one last battle of knowledge/wit, and Anon could stump him by pointing out that God never died, as Nietzsche merely assumed his role.

Nietzsche could then fade into oblivion or otherwise surrender his power, and Anon could be given the option of bringing God back, but instead chooses to assume the role of God himself, which is basically your idea of "/lit/ coming into all powerful worldly power, and organizing the world as it sees fit", which I personally like a lot.

If this gets fleshed out we could potentially already have our beginning and ending concept already. I believe there was another anon, unless that was you, who is already working on a similar premise for the prologue.

>Why would, not ordinary people be going to the 'good; afterlife?

We are assuming that the pantheon have made their trial arbitrarily hard, with no intention of letting anyone into the good afterlife at all. Either the pantheon aren't necessarily 'good guys' or they are so powerful that humanity is completely trivial to them are they are essentially just fucking with us for their own amusement.

>And, why is Stirner presiding over this?

Not Stirner, but a powerful god who just seems to resemble Stirner in some way. You have to remember that the story is taking place inside a /lit/-inspired universe. Think of the "its magic, i aint gotta explain shit" may-may.

>I guess this also begs, what does the 'good' afterlife entail?

This is currently undecided, so any suggestions for what the 'good' afterlife entails and what the bad one might, or if there is even a good/bad, heaven/hell dichotomy type thing at all, are very welcome. If you have any just post 'em here or in the "How does the story end?" section of the planning doc.

Strawpoll for Stirner-god's question to Anon is up:

https://strawpoll.com/bcg8r3e

This question will play a large part in determining the tone of the chapter, so it's quite important.

And remember, this question is one of only 7 questions that determine whether someone gets into the 'good' afterlife. It should be something that an ordinary person would not be able to answer or guess.

Having trump be somehow present in the story is an interesting idea that other anons have mentioned. I personally dont think it should come off as being blatantly pro or anti trump but we'll see what gets written.

>>9085737
>How long were you planning on keeping the votes open

Until a winner emerged, essentially.

Under certain circumstance I could have kept it up longer, but sometimes you have to build on the momentum when you are fortunate enough to have it. The name "Watashi" was voted to the top quickly, and it conveniently tied together a number of aspects of the character. When something like that seems to form on its own during the writing process it's good to take advantage of it. It stops the writing from getting stagnated and helps give it an 'organic' feel.

Might seem like a small milestone but, we essentially have our first fleshed out character.

I did my best to combine everyone's suggestions into one coherent set of characteristics, and pic related is the end result (this is how it now appears in the document).

Think about what this character might pose to anon as their chosen question of ultimate final judgement etc. and add it to the list in the Stirner doc:

(Strawpoll coming for this soon)

Also next god to be finalised is DFW, the possibly the kek god, (we'll see)
