I have a friend who is really into forum RP, but he says the same thing as you OP. There is a distinct lack of originality and maturity to it.

I'd actually be interested in it. Any places you can recommend?

Alright, never mind, I found it.

Here's the link, if you're interested.

I have a question, /lit/.

I've come to you because I figured it's right up your alley.

i found something on the internet a fair while ago, something hilarious, and saved it to my bookmarks. Long story short, computer reformat, forgot to save bookmarks.

It's been driving me crazy, because I want to find it, but I can't remember the name of it or the website it was on, or even any quotes that I could type into to google.

It's a collaborative work from a few anons, in a sequence of vignettes. It's basically a political satire, with a bit of a twist.

It's based on a picture that the Republicans were throwing around in the 2008 McCain/Obama elections, on gun control.

It was quotes from 18 - 45 year olds about how they think Obama's proposed laws are concerning, and the wouldn't 'feel safe' in such an environment.

It starts with the group in the picture discussing the proposed gun laws. It then degenerates into an apocalypse when Obama is actually elected.

I can only remember a businessman eating a live rat (and a fellow office worker) and falling in love with a woman who cut off her own breast in order to better wield a bow.

Does this ring a bell with anybody?

you should probably consider actually trying to write before deciding it's futile.

on a side note, this thread is now about books.

I just finished Rules of Attraction the other day. Did anybody else find it as mind numbingly morbid as I did?

Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld series, or The Lovers.

I prefer his short stories to his longer novels, but these are still good.
