PREFACE: IM SRSLY NOT BEING IRONIC U GUYS, BUT IRONY IS A VALUABLE FORM OF ENGAGEMENT SO IF U WANNA SHITPOST ALL OVER THIS THREAD THATS OK IM NOT MAD AT ALL

I'm trying to work through some ideas for a thesis I'm writing. One of my primary points of interrogation is redefining authorship and authority, so I don't really have any ethical qualms with seeking out uncredited input from others.

My thesis is structured around an expansive definition of textuality that apprehends anything from hypertext and code to printed novels. Critically, I'm taking a lot of inspiration from Barthes, Derrida, and more recently, Mark C. Taylor.

My primary sources range from works like House of Leaves - traditionally bound and printed publications that explore the limit of that medium by playing with the typeface and layout of the page - to this interactive article on coding by Paul Ford
https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2015-paul-ford-what-is-code/

I'm basically asking how reconstituting "the text" to encompass a webpage, a comment thread, a jordan peterson livestream (lol) - and examining the affective dimensions of these mediums - might redefine readership in an age where most of the media we consume is digital and constantly transforming.

Thoughts? Suggestions for primary/secondary sources? General discussion? I know it seems like I'm using 4chan to help write a paper but honestly I've already got most of my research done. I just think it's an interesting and important topic, and - as an online image-board concerned with literature - I figure /lit/ is a perfect place to explore it.

No.

Read, write, hangout with my friends, take them all ghost huntin', (we're all skeptical, 90% of the time we don't hear or see shit. just piss about in abandoned buildings) Watch as many films as possible & and try a meal at every restaurant I see.
