I own roughly 1200 or so niggers. My collection is divided between my plantation and my mansion, due to space limitations!

so essentially he's like every other human being that's ever existed ever?

I'm just wondering what a person's personal life has to do with the quality of their writing.

I read the Alchemist, and honestly it wasn't as horrible as you make it out to be. Sure it was a little force feedy, but nothing is black and white like the picture you paint.

nice b8 m8

But yes, I read it a little while ago, and there were passages I read that I just had to stop and close my eyes to digest them. Does anyone else do that?

Anyway, I know Gibran wrote at least one other sequel or something. But I found it interesting that this one book took him three years to write.

what are you, a sofa? people don't get worn out, they die. I can understand being tired, and wanting rest, but I can't understand being worn out.

what I'm trying right now is planning out each scene in my head. I write it down, pen and paper because it helps me think, as in the specifics of what occurs in that scene, and then I plan to write it all out later. It's not a map but a list of scattered scenes I'm going to rearrange.

Do you have a large number of characters? I would list each one out and write out their qualities. Idk, I'm just starting to get into creative writing.

what's the difference between "in your face" lessons that are clearly spelled out, and lessons you deduce from reflection on literature? Do they not have the same aim?

I read Hesse's Siddhartha and Gibran's The Prophet and really liked them. I liked the Alchemist too, but slightly less -- honestly I felt they were offering very similar lessons. And I know the stuff about "it's the journey, not the destination."

also, a somewhat interesting read. I like the part about thinking from different perspectives. I definitely see that coming up in Calculus and such.

yeah sure, that's my point. like reading what I like or going on lit, those are things I like. I just don't like spending my time on literature i don't like.

idk i liked him. He's nice if you're looking for a quick and easy read with some magic surrealism.

I would start with A Wild Sheep Chase or The Elephant Vanishes. Then maybe Kafka on the Shore.

>>4424074
which books did you read by him? and why did you read multiple books if you didn't like him? just wondering. i usually stop half way through a book if I don't like it.
