Wow. I think your judgment to analyze a post is clouded by the fact that you are irrationally upset. Go wash your face and come back, kiddo

Hey man, I totally overslept today and my brain is totally jumbled up.

"Certain elements" can be defined as:

- Working through deceit in order to get farther vs. working honestly in order to maintain integrity

- Following one's desires and usurping responsibilities towards others vs. accepting one's duty.

- The propensity for a society to be individualistic vs. collectivism

There are many more dichotomies. In no way am I limiting the difference between good and bad in just two paths, as morals and ethics are often blurred as ambiguous and entirely subjective.

I think it's more accurate to say that Man has the right to be good. Certain elements of our society have allowed to be aware of the dichotomy between good and bad and judge which one fits for us.

I already read tons, and by standard measure, I am pretty sure I read faster than the average. Want to learn how to read even faster while still maintaining a maximum amount of comprehension.

Interesting, but there's got to be more to it than just that.

Hey /lit/. How does one learn how to read faster? Are there different methodical approaches to, for instance reading fiction fast vs. a textbook?

Tips, advice, links, etc. are all appreciated

Implicit meaning. What is derived from the book. Something beyond the linear style that is meant for children, ya nig nog.

Also, can be understood in terms of how significant its meaning is were the adult reader a child.

I read Book Thief a year ago, shortly after I read Ender's Game. I enjoyed both thoroughly. While the intended audience may be children/ young adult, the implicit meaning of the books are understood and appreciated by those who can appreciate a well written book.

Don't think so narrow-minded. Read what you want, and gain what you seek from books. There is no benchmark.

It really depends, I suppose. Sartre's "The Wall" was a fantastic collection of short stories based on existentialism and the art of finding oneself through extreme isolation.

But I also appreciate a set of short stories completely randomized, as it shows an author's ability to drop a story, and finish it fluidly and effectively. Authors like Vonnegut, Charlotte Perkins Gilman and many more are literary masters of short stories

For me it helps to cup my balls in my hand. Well, first off it's important to note that I first soak them in warm water, so they become pretty loose. Then I sorta cup them, and play with them in a sense that I am also sorta imagining the fact that they are two perfect ovals suspended in a mosaic of tissues and fluids. I just smile and play with them, and often I find that this helps me write poetry and increases creativity in general.
