What are the most mindblowing, beautiful, scary or uplifting theories and ideas that you know ?

Last thread about these that I saw here was very interesting. I remember seeing Roko's basilisk (avoid if anxiety prone), some kind of bifurcation theory of fucked up genetic traits, some of Tegmark's ideas or work (Axis of Evil, Mathematical Universe). The classic false vaacum as well. Maybe strange loops and some "microeconomics theorems" that were not named.

If you know of any place or wiki discussing this stuff I would absolutely love it.

I can suggest Greg Egan and Peter Watts novels as a potential source of mindfucks. And there must be a load of fascinating niche th. physics I'm forgetting or ignoring. For example Majid talked about a possible answer to the copenhagen interpretation trough non commutative geometry.

What's wrong?

That sounds possible. But what about areas of space that act like black holes? Isn't an almost-black hole nearly the same thing?
