Not really. There's much more to imaging that sensor resolution, that's really just a marketing gimmick. Note that a much bigger DSLR will take much better photographs even if the sensor resolution is less, because the optics in the phone are shit.

Note that Mars missions also have limited bandwidth to send back data, so cannot have huge sensors. The sensors themselves have to be radiation tolerant too.

i always liked looking at the nightsky since i was a kid, i am thinking about getting a telescope to get a closer look at stuff. can you recommend me further reading and other resources? also what can i expect to see? mars, moon and venus should be easy but what else is there to be seen?
