This is a relatively recent phenomenon, and there just hasn't been enough time yet for these kids to grow old enough for us know how bad it is.

But tell me what you think /sci/—how FUCKED are these kids' brains? Will giving an ipad to sub-10 year olds be made illegal at some point? Are these "parents" creating broken children?

it's epi-dysgenics approaching class warfare. It's an open secret silicon valley doesn't raise their children on what they produce. Tedpilled again.

They'll be brain damaged, sterile, and they'll have various developmental and hormonal disorders. This has been studied. We have research on this going back long before wifi even existed. They're basically weapons.

It's part of our version of Brave New World. You need to initially halt population growth before you control it, and control who breeds, etc.

Anecdotal bias but,

im not sure the problem
I was introduced to vidya at like 3, first memory I was 4 playing link to the past. Ever since all my hobbies besides basketball and ping pong club have been electronic. I wouldn't be surprised if 1/2 my life has been in front of a computer screen/tv

I went to school for math (like 2.6gpa though lol). Im a functioning adult and work as a data analyst. Live with my preggo girlfriend.

Literally the only downside is I'm uncomfortable in large social settings, and my ability to empathize with shocking experiences is dulled because I spend too much time browsing degenerate message-boards.

As long as your parents are competent I don't see the problem

Our society is built on 9 year old hunters and 12 year olds giving birth. Yeah protect them cool, but all the entitled idiots you hate today were raised by parents who coddled them TOO much

well, some parents make their kids watch educational videos. here in my south american country, kids end up talking in funny ways, like people from other countries. imagine if some american kid used words or phrases they use in scotland, england or sweden, because that's how the cartoons they watch talk (or were translated or whatever). many cartoons are translated in mexico, and they add their own modisms and slangs that are kinda funny to us.

some parents don't even control that shit and end up watching weird videos made by faggots that only care about the money they make from the number of viewers (kids) they have, and so they publish weird videos that attract kids.

I don't associate with entitled people and I don't see evidence that there is a systemic issue that young people are entitled. I'm a millennial, granted I didn't have an affluent upbringing and I'm a blue collar worker, all the people in my peer group are hard working and communal. The only time I've ever seen these entitled millennials are in Facebook memes. Maybe I just don't associate with prices of shit.

Do you have any evidence that it is bad for development? Majority of young children I meet now can all use technology very well, whereas the Boomers on the supreme court of the US openly admit they don't use email because they don't know how

Calm down, this is just the next step on the road towards a civilization of GigaAutist Technomancers, everything is going according to plan.
Having toddlers and children constantly interact with screened technologies helps reprogramming their brains for the hyperspecialized work of the coming decades.
Zoomers were the test run for this - the older generations assume that they are literally retarded because they lack any common sense or common knowledge (as previously defined) and can't identify more than two countries on the world map when in fact these capabilities were discarded intentionally in favor of maximizing their compatibility with fast digital technology. Smart zoomers write digital code (build new digital infrastructure) and the population majority of not-so-smart zoomers write natural language code (content to fill the digital infrastructure) - smart zoom write app, dumb zoom write clickbait. And they set in place the digital landscape that will mold the next generation. This process will continue indefinitely until we run out of oil, reduce the world population drastically, or find an alternative energy source (which we haven't, renewables are just Re-packaged oil energy).
In the next 3 to 5 decades 99% of jobs that require some level of common sense and are non-compatible with autistic traits will eventually either be outsourced to algorithms and drones or performed by exceptionally few people with their aid (farmers, for instance).

Autism is neither a pathology nor a buzzword. It's the future of the human condition, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Yes, every generation considers the following generation to be inferior/dangerous. But you know, statistically speaking they're right 1/10 times or so. That's when Nations or Empires collapse. We haven't seen them yet but I'm willing to bet my portfolio that the generation of Zommer children will be it, the West collapses and geopolitics reshuffles. What will they be called anyways, Xoomers?

>> No.11733915

I'm dramatizing a little and sure there's a discussion to be had about the causes, but many of these trends are well-documented truisms and have been consistent for 200+ years. Just look at the history of farming - the workforce shrinks constantly, the yield increases and the technological entanglement deepens.
If simply being aware of these facts constitutes being a shizo, every mildly educated person must be a victim of serious pathology.
