> Vaccine for the common cold.

I don't think you understand that this whole thing is just a election year scam. We will go back to not giving a shit about the common cold once the elections are over.

Fyi Corona Virus is just the science name for the common cold and the reason we don't have a vaccine is because it mutates so quickly that its pointless.

Covid vaccine is a meme. The problem is it would be at best 80% effective (some say as low as 50% https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/09/12/911987987/a-covid-19-vaccine-may-be-only-50-effective-is-that-good-enough).). (Remember the measles vac is 97% effective with two doses, )
But let’s pretend it will be 80% effective.
Follow me here because the math is not intuitive
That sounds decent right? At least you lower the burden on hospitals a lot.
Except when you figure only 8.2-9.4 % of people get covid (based on the antibody random sampling test done recently). The chance that someone will both get the coof and the vaccine will work will is incredibly low., under 1%. The proof is left as an exercise to the reader.
Here is the sad part.
Everyone will still get the vaccine. Why?
Because that’s how people work, they need to feel like they are doing something, people HATE feeling powerless, no matter how scientific they pretend to be and even the resisters will break down on social pressure and get it once it’s needed to travel or show up to work

We don't know how long people remain immune for.
Also, 90% of the people with covid have persistent symptoms, which means PERMANENT ORGAN DAMAGE!!

If you do the Math, you need 200 million infected to reach herd immunity. That's 180 million people with permanent organ damage, with go guarantee their immunity will last for more than 6 months. Maybe people will get infected year after year, each year getting cumulative organ damage till they succumb.
Now as for the death count. It would be in the range of 2 million deaths. We lost 3000 people on 9/11.

If you do the math, what you propose is the equivalent of 666 entirely new 9/11s

At least 80%. There was no coronavirus vaccine before this due to how difficult it is to make one, there are already studies showing any immunity disappears after 3 months, and even the WHO is admitting it may be years at least before anything is made.

The numbers are all over the place. One study showed antibodies had nearly disappeared by the two month point, another showed little decline after six months. It probably depends on the severity of the infection, and possibly the strain.

Very unlikely. What's more likely is that there's a spread of efficacy between vaccines and there will drama over who gets the best one, but that will also depend on how that particular vaccine is manufactured, how easy they are to transport and store, one dose or two doses. Another question is whether a particular vaccine induces enough of an immune response to prevent a vaccinated person from spreading the virus, but as far as reducing mortality goes even a less effective vaccine will do a lot for that, and there will be more than one option sooner or later.

It wasn't. They simply stopped talking about it.

Other countries that have tried the same lockdowns as China did (Argentina, Spain, Italy, etc.) Found out that all it does is slow down spread for a while, but after reopening cases skyrocket again. The numbers China is pushing are both fake and impossible.
