/sci/ what helps you with waking up in the morning, and having the mental capacity to spend the entire day working? How do you not burn out?

Is there any benefit to taking some vitamins? Working out? Having a schedule?

>helps you with waking up in the morning
do not eat breakfast, first meal is lunch
only drink a team and make sure you are well hydrated
this will give you great clarity and productivity in the morning
>How do you not burn out
by having a healthy balance of things that i enjoy, avoiding stress and not being overburdened with tasks, while leaving outlets for me to play and fiddle around with stuff
>Is there any benefit to taking some vitamins
no, eat veggies
>Working out
yes, as a meditational exercise and counterweight to a sedentary style
>Having a schedule
for sleeping times and strictly adhering to it? yes.
for work you split big goals into smaller goals that you can solve once at a time.
having a schedule is at work not as important as having a good way to approach problems and task, also the appropriate mindset for it.
schedule and planning only when it is really a necessity.

all of this is assuming you are an engineer working an engineering job.

I take NAC and 3-5 grams vitamin C in the morning. I generally try to eat fats instead of starches or protein, though it varies and I haven't really optimized that. I don't drink caffeine unless there is an actual reason. Confounders for my testimony are that when I've needed to do a lot and sustain it I've tended to get high af on cacao which achieves exactly what you seem to be after in the short term (especially when fasting), but in the long term net burns you out and really modifies how your mind works (the mode and direction of the claritym divergent and lateral thought is emphasized, convergent thought is reduced) and how energy is allocated throughout the day. The stories from central and South America are true, "a man who has eaten cacao can easily march all day and all night with no food", however do not let it deceive you, there is a cost and you can't draw on that indefinitely. Cacao is a drug and should not be abused. Otherwise I would make sure my vitamin D was adequate, and would eat brazil nuts for selenium. There are a ton of herbs that can facilitate mental clarity but I don't really feel like listing them because let's be real, no one is into that shit. However in short:
-Polygonum multiflorum
-Gotu kola (centella asiatica)
-Ashwagandha (withania somnifera)
-Ginkgo leaf (ginkgo biloba)
-Rhodiola rosea
-Ginseng (very estrogenic, not a male herb long term)
-Schisandra berry
-Shatavari (asparagus racemosus, very estrogenic)
-Bacopa monierri

Caffeinated:
-Guarana seed
-Yerba mate
-Guayusa

Exercise, intermittent fasting, cutting added sugar out of the general diet, and so on also help a lot.

In the morning that is. There's also a lot to consider when it comes to food mixing. Eating starch and protein together greatly delays the time it takes for the stomach to empty into the gut. These notions go back to ancient times, but were particularly studied by Pavlov, abd they probably connect to mental clarity and the genesis of disease.

You could say i am an engineer.
Programming/physics/engineering.

That thing about not eating breakfast and only drinking tea sounds interesting.
Would black tea work or should i aim to avoid caffeine?

What type of cacao am i supposed to look for?
Cacao reminds me of childhood chocolate drinks.

I am taking 120mg Gingko biloba.
It kinda works, but is too weak and doesnt accomplish much on its own.

I spent some time researching Modafinil a while ago and it looks like a good thing, but i couldn't handle the legal pressure.

>What type of cacao am i supposed to look for?
All types have a different effect profile, and they even vary by region they're grown in. Overall I prefer roasted cacao powder, but not dutch/alkali processed. Raw cacao and nibs are often just fermented, but you need to be wary of mold toxins. Chocolate liquor (paste of 50/50 cocoa mass and butter) is the most energizing and in high doses is like a mix of alcohol and dextroamphetamine, but it can be too much and have an addling aspect with an eventual crash. Adding sucrose to any of these will modify its effect, especially chocolate liquor, generally intensifying it.

One should be wary of ginkgo as some papers have found it makes the BBB more permeable. This is good if there's something you want to be in there more, bad if there is nothing to make it a net benefit .

Not believing psychiatrist is key of not burning out.

On something like 1 day down repackaging that's beweekly they would order you a pill which will kill your creativity forever.

And psychiatrist don't prescribe pills, they order them to you.

Because it's not voluntarily refusable.

If you feel anxiety about project release, they will give you anxilyotic on which you'll fuck up whole your project like you're doing something that doesn't relates to you.

What would be the right dosage for mild and strong effects?
How long do the effects usually last?

>> No.12552454

>>12552435
1-4 tsp powder. Decent sized chunk for chocolate liquor (maybe a tsp or two?). 5 oz or so for 50% chocolate liquor and 50% sucrose chocolate chips is pretty decent strong dose. Effects are cumulative and they build if taken for several days, where eventually euphoria and so on is matched by a dissociative effect. You'll have to experiment.

That's what I started off with and stuck to for quite some time. Just bear in mind the mold and mold toxin aspect, and that apparently cacao strongly inhibits digestive enzymes which process starches and lipids. Long term, could alter / disrupt gut flora.

>/sci/ what helps you with waking up in the morning, and having the mental capacity to spend the entire day working?

Nothing, I am personally a night owl so my day really starts around 16:00 in terms of thesis and uni work. I make sure to exercise around 11-12am and do all my groceries and chores afterwards so I'll be done with everything around that time.

Ideally, if at all possible, you should always tailor your routine to your individual-typical biological traits. Forcing yourself too much into a routine in terms of sleep and activity patterns that your phenotype can never optimally adapt to will in the end hinder your productivity and mental clarity more than anything else.

In terms of anything explicit I do to be more mentally alert in the morning to jumpstart my brain a bit is playing Age of Empires 2. It's a strategy game with an immense mental load and to me it's not even playing a game anymore, but having a morning jog for my brain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WPWua0HqLE Take it seriously, but not as a game, as a mental exercise, commit to doing as much as possible, being as focused as possible, performing as well as you possibly can.

>Is there any benefit to taking some vitamins?

In general, definitely, but again you need to tailor it to your own needs. There are a host of neurotransmitters that contribute together to the feeling of "mental clarity" and if you want to fine-tune them for that mental state, you need to be aware of how their metabolism works, how receptor sensitivity works, how they are synthesized in the human body, etc. etc. etc.

For mental clarity, the following foods will offer benefits: artichoke, brussels sprouts, red beets (actually red beet juice is more effective) and generally nuts.

>Working out?

Definitely. Improved glucose metabolism, improved bloodflow and cell oxygenation (which includes neurons), improved homeostatic control of neurotransmitters.

>How do you not burn out?

By focusing on consistency. Better to have 5% progress that lasts a month than 10% progress that only lasts a week. Take baby steps that will snowball over a longer period, consolidate your healthy habits instead of pushing yourself too much. First work on the ability TO push yourself, both mentally and physically

It's all about keeping the veins to your brain unobstructed and dilated for maximum supply of energy, nutrition, oxygen and removal of waste. The absolute best way to do this is eating healthy and exercise. Body building is by far the most important in this regard as it gives you strength and muscle mass to keep your head and limbs properly aligned so the veins are not pinched just by you looking down in your books. Keeping your diet low in toxins is important too, like nicotine, caffeine and alcohol. But the absolute most important is get fit

I find that "emotional healing" is extremely important. Thinking about your situation, what is really important what are actually myths that are holding you back, etc.
Being close to nature and peace on a regular basis, i.e. a walk on the beach or the forest.

Physical activity, sleep and proper diet are extremely important as well.

>>12551672
Good tips, but breakfast really depends on your metabolism. Some people really need to eat in the morning or they feel weak. I can handle it well, and it does have a good effect.

>>12552298
Beware of this advice. Avoid psychiatrists that give you drugs on a whim and only parrot what you're saying instead of engaging with you in dialogue.
Nothing contributed to my emotional growth and becoming wiser than my psychotherapy. But my psychiatrist only gave me drugs in the year (three years ago) because I had severe clinical depression. Eventually I dropped the antidepressants and kept the psychotherapy and it has been invaluable. It is supposed to be a dialogical relationship, so it only works if you and you psych are compatible, like all human relationships.
