you can't separate projection and psychology
it doesn't matter how far humans chase any field of knowledge, there is always an underlying "why" that we cannot answer, no matter the direction you go

at best, with psychology, you can simply observe and state what you observe. you can comment on trending patterns, but this can only ever be attributed to the individual for certainties sake, and even then, they are a malleable life form and thus their trending behavior patterns are in flux to some degree.
